Genevieve felt the hair on the back of her neck stand on end.
One moment, there was no one behind her. The next, someone had abruptly materialized seemingly out of thin air.
She slowly turned around, her gaze finally landing on the one who had just spoken.
She saw a boy no older than ten. He wore the same clothes as the small skeletal figure in the corner, except his were whole and well-kept. His skin was pale as a corpse's, but it was his eyes that were the most terrifying.
There were no whites in them. Only endless black, as though darkness itself had filled his sockets.
The moment their eyes met, the little boy tilted his head and offered a small smile. He outstretched his hand and asked, "Sister, will you play with me?"
Genevieve froze.
She had never seen a ghost before. Yet she was certain that the one in front of her was definitely one.
An evil spirit!
"It makes sense."
Adam's calm words echoed in the room.
