Adam's consciousness returned to the outside world.
He stood silently for a few long seconds, trying to understand the severity of what had just transpired.
The key was mysterious, yes. The Lotus hadn't deemed it a threat to him, yes.
But the only thing that stumped him was one question:
Why?
Unable to find the answer to that, as well as the true purpose of the key, Adam shook his head and sighed again.
As long as it's not harmful to me, he thought as he stroked his beard.
He truly disliked things he could not understand. Especially if said things now resided inside his mind. But as long as the Lotus was there, he was certain about one thing - his spirit sea would remain protected. He had at least that much faith in the divine artifact.
Adam decided to put the matter to the back of his mind for now. He could contemplate the key's mysteries later, when he had the time and luxury to do so.
For the moment, there were more immediate matters to investigate.
