Xiao Lang put down his glass of water and asked in a low voice, "Didn't you refuse? Why did you agree again?"
"I'm a doctor. Treating patients is my responsibility."
Xiao Lang's lips tugged slightly. "Just because of that?"
"Otherwise what else do you think it is?"
Xiao Lang propped himself up. A servant stepped forward wanting to help him, but he refused.
He only held his cane and groped his way forward.
When he reached the dining room door, he tilted his head slightly. "Aren't you coming?"
Li Mingxi reacted a beat late before realizing he was talking to her.
She got up and followed behind him, went to the living room with him, and sat down on the sofa.
"Why are you sitting so far away? Come here." Xiao Lang patted the spot next to him.
Mingxi thought, how does he know I'm sitting far away?
She shifted over a little. Xiao Lang wasn't satisfied. "A bit closer."
"No need, this spot is just right for me."
