The same night standing on a balcony that over looked the growing city Elise let out a sad sigh as a single tear fell from her face reflecting the light of lonely moon

Turning away from the beautiful site of the city from this height she went back inside before she did something she would've regretted

Blinking away the film on my eye I wondered
where I was until the memories of last night flooded back
' dammit' I covered my face with my hands hoping to hide from my shame. Ultimately proving useless the pit in my stomach wouldn't go away
' why did I give in?....sigh damn you woman.' Gently moving the tails laying across my chest i got up trying not to disturb alaine while she sleep snoring cutely every other breath
Going to one of the two windows in the room i opened it letting the coolness of the sea air blow in and help cool me off
Elise keeps the room cool after our session knowing tended to overheat a lot of the time, but with alaine there would be no such thing
After cooling down thanks to the sea air i walked out of the thoughts still in turmoil
teleporting a bottle of liquor from my old adventures guild to my hand I swirled it around deciding what to do with it, when I did a steady hand stopped me
" don't do that you'll only regret it even more later...I-I couldn't have been that bad." Sadly chuckling I set the bottle back on the table leaning my head on alaine
The softness of her skin momentarily distracting me " you were amazing." Trying to hide once again I pushed myself into her trying to escape
Letting her touch calm my racing mind focusing on the rhythm of her strokes on my head
" sorry dear i have to get everyone's food prepared now im already late." Alaine apologized pulling away from me to head down stairs
" I'll help." I was right behind her just trying to keep my mind busy
And i did as soon we got to the kitchen I handled the prep for not only the breakfast she was making for the castle but also for her diner when she opens knowing she was already running late thanks to me...and a little of her, i wanted to help
The atmosphere was odd the entire time we were working
but maybe it was just me alaine seemed unaffected by the odd feeling in fact she was more lively than usual and she has tried something on me since waking

" thank you."pecking my cheek as she took my hand she asked if I was ready, after taking a breath and picking up the box of food she just made i nodded and took her hand again letting her teleport us to the first stop

" huh?" Turning my head because of a sudden increase in light
In slow motion thanks to my lightning I saw a beam about to hit alaine, pulling her behind me with one hand i hardened space around the other deflecting the beam
Instead of striking the ground and disappearing like I thought it would it bore into the ground curving an shot out again trying to hit its target which was alaine
I continued Deflecting it each time it tried to get her but it's assault was relentless
As I moved to deflect it for the tenth time still enhanced by my lightning slowing everything down i watched a flat square shaped device slowly spin in front of me and shift apart revealing insides similar to a mirror when you have it reflect image onto itself
The infinite reflection absorbed the beam shifting back to its original flat square shape fall to the ground with a dull thud
" what was that thing?" Alaine's voice piped up behind me after the danger was captured looking at the device on the ground still a little shaken up by the thing trying to attack her so relentlessly
" im so sorry we were testing a new type of defense when it shot of in this direction, are you alright?
A group of goblin women rushed towards us wearing a for sci-fi/medieval version of a lab coat i didn't see the value in having something like them but Liam insisted we get them made
Looking past the group to a hole in one of the facilities the went past multiple layers of protection and security
I was going to chastise them for being careless but it seems that our protections were the ones lacking " we are fine but halt this project until our security is restored and improved for the testing rooms
" as you wish my king." Collecting the device and apologizing a couple more times to both alaine and i They went back to the building they came out of
" are you really ok?"
" yeah thanks to you." Pecking my cheek she took my hand leading me to the building where we are going to drop the food off
" will things be ok if we show up together." After placing what she made on alaine noticed my nervousness of going to our last stop
" i hope ." I really didn't know how Elise would react until we appeared
Alaine's hand tightened hesitating to say something " i-i-if things don't work out, thank you for letting me have this"
Not able to find the words to respond, i only nodded before she teleported us to the dining hall of our castle
Everything went dead silent when we appeared in the hall together no chatter of those gathered nor the sounds of birds chirping announcing the beginning of a new day...or maybe it was just my anxiety deciding to spike in that moment
Mustering up the courage to look around the room everyone's expression was mostly normal except for one....James that bastard had the biggest smirk on his face.
it took everything i had not to punch ' he's lucky i need him to run my army properly.' Beside him the only others with different expressions were Amelia,lazza and oddly Salem
The last two seemed jealous while with Amelia i couldn't tell what she was thinking
Trying to not let my nervousness show i placed the box in the middle of the large table helping alaine pass them out

The entire time I've been in the hall she hadn't looked up at me even once

' maybe im wrong she isn't pissed.' Circling around to my chair next to her I sat down setting the last plate in my hand in front of me and began eating with everyone else
Casual chatter filled the hall once again as everyone enjoyed their food this being one of the few times through the day they get to relax and enjoy each other's company, since everyone here held some sort of important position in the kingdom
Coming on from the ceiling using a thin web tether te'let hung in front of alaine an waited
" i didn't forget about you." Alaine didn't just make something for the people of the hall but also the animals wrapping up her meal te'let crawled back and ate in a web she had made in the corner of the hall

From a beam helping hold the hall up icarus swooped down grabbing some fruit in their talons before heading back to enjoy their sweet nectar
Darting from her shoulder Emily's summons scooped up leaves and some weird rock looking things into their mouth enjoying them with a hearty crunch every time they chewed returning to my daughter's side
" im heading to the office now, thank you for the meal as always alaine." Standing Elise walked out of the hall the
" your welcome." Alaine Hastily answered back before the doors closed
Elise's voice was even and calm, and her movements weren't erratic or controlled by emotions but alaine and I still felt she was off
Nodding at each other I stood up leaving the hall as well
' she couldn't have gotten far.' as I turned after closing the doors to the dinning hall i was struck in the cheek, coming face to face with a teary eyed Elise
Pounding on my chest with her fist out of frustration she let them fall " you liar, you promised,you swore that I would be the only now...now...im not." Her fist didn't hurt but those words did

" shhhhh...dont" giving me the same face when I left to alaine's she shushed sadness evident in her face now that we were out of the hall in a more private setting
After a deep breath she stepped back anger findingit'sway intoher voice" you're going to be in our bed tonight and, you're going to be clean, the only scent i want on you is mine."
" yes ma'am." I instantly stood at attention satisfied that I got the message she started leaving the castle to the courtyard where she'll fly to her office
The entire way she swayed her hips for me to enjoy
