Battleworld, inside Batman's base.
Batman walked in. The other Batmans were already there, clearly waiting for a long time. Primary Universe Batman stepped up first and shook his hand.
"You've worked hard," he said, "That guy seems to know he can't do much in your universe. He's beginning to infiltrate other universes simultaneously."
Batman squinted and said, "How could it be so fast?"
"You were too vigilant," Arkham Batman said with his arms crossed, "A play of Mars people invasion completely disrupted his plan to use familial ties to provoke the Justice League. I'm afraid this was a brilliant plan he came up with after much contemplation, and you resolved it so easily. He knows how difficult you are to deal with, so he's planning to find an easier target."
"Who is it?" Batman looked around and asked.
None of the Batmans answered. It seemed a bit like isolation, but of course, Batman would never do such a thing. The silence confirmed that it wasn't their universe.
At this moment, someone with a slightly different style walked out, Bruce with his hands in his pockets said, "Unfortunately, it's just me."
"When you heard this news, you didn't burst out laughing, did you?" Batman asked.
"Tried hard to hold it in," Big Adventure Batman said with a smirk.
Batman looked at Bruce, knowing full well this was no coincidence. It's likely Bruce did something behind the scenes to draw the Black Death Emperor's attention to him.
After all, Bruce had been to his universe. The spirits controlled by the Black Death Emperor had been in contact with him. There's no reason he would seem like an easy target. The current situation must be intentional.
"Who was resurrected in your place?" Batman asked directly.
"You're asking the right question," Bruce walked to the center platform, picked up a cup of coffee, then said, "Almost no one's relatives in our universe have died. The only one worth reviving has been resurrected before and thrown into a lake. I'd also like to know who he plans to resurrect."
"You better take it easy," Arkham Batman said.
"For now, our focus is still on your universe," Primary Universe Batman looked at Batman and said, "How's it going there?"
"Not bad. The Justice League is fighting those resurrected spirits, who call themselves 'Black Death Day.' The most notable members at present are Atlanna and Savage Wolf. The others are not worth worrying about."
"Savage Wolf isn't a match for Superman. Though Atlanna has an advantage in the water, Arthur is always contending with him for control. Others assist from the side. Ultimately, they are not our opponents."
"What you need to watch out for is internal danger," Primary Universe Batman said, "The Power of Death is highly contaminating. He will certainly use that."
"I'm prepared," Batman said, "What about you? Do you have any plans?"
"We are searching for the Life Force," Big Adventure Batman thought for a moment and said, "Since there is the Black Lamp Power representing death, there must be the White Lamp Power representing life. Batman has already contacted us, providing relevant information. But how to summon and use it is still under study."
"That is indeed a problem," Batman thought for a while and said, "If I'm not mistaken, those spirits also wear rings. This means the power of these Lantern rings must have a carrier to function. The carrier for the Black Lamp Power is the resurrected spirits. What about the White Lamp? It must have some special requirements too, right?"
"We are investigating," Primary Universe Batman said grimly, "No matter who can finally utilize the White Lamp Power, we will assist him in acquiring this power."
"What if they're unwilling?"
Primary Universe Batman shook his head and said, "The requirements for the Life Force are probably exactly opposite to the Power of Death. So the carrier will certainly not be a great villain. For the safety of the Multiverse, he will agree."
"I have no doubt he'll agree in the end. But if he demands a high price..."
"He has no choice," Primary Universe Batman said.
When Batman returned to his own universe, the battle between the Justice League and Black Death Day was nearing its end. As expected, the Justice League had a significant upper hand. Atlanna was directly subdued by Superman, losing her first head. Savage Wolf was also reduced to ashes under the siege of the other Justice League members. And this time, Dr. Erdel and the Allen couple were also forced into a spirit form. However, their bodies were too weak to be of any use.
But the after-effects also appeared after the war. Diana, returning to the Justice League base, was out of breath. She lay on the table, looking very uncomfortable.
As everyone knows, this lady is quite strong. Even if she was dying, she wouldn't necessarily show a painful expression. But now, she seemed somewhat fragile. Clearly, this was not just physical pain.
"Find a way... find a way to lock me up," Diana said with some difficulty, "I can no longer stop the invasion of the Power of Death. But I must not become a monster that harms you. Quickly find a way to lock me up!"
No one moved for a long time, not because they didn't want to. But there's simply no place safe enough to imprison Diana. Surely, they couldn't just throw her into the sea, could they?
Clark grabbed her hand, wanting to use Magic Energy to help suppress it, but the instant he touched her, he felt a prickling pain. He instinctively withdrew his hand. Diana shook her head continuously and said, "Don't touch me. This thing has already..."
Clark tried to reach out again, but Ron quickly stopped him and said, "Don't touch her anymore, if you get infected, we're done for."
Though furious, Clark didn't dare to take the risk, pacing anxiously in the room. At this moment, Barry spoke up, "I feel like I might also be... I'm feeling uncomfortable..."
Ron was taken aback and rushed over to check Barry's hand. He found that the corpse spots on the back of Barry's hand had already spread to his arm. Because he was a regular human, his resistance was weaker, and the corpse spots were visibly spreading quickly.
"I have to return to the Divine Speed," Barry said, "Only there can this thing not spread. The longer I stay out, the deeper I'm eroded."
"It won't spread in the Divine Speed?" Clark said with wide eyes, "Then can you take Diana inside?"
Barry was stunned for a moment, then said, "It seems possible. But ordinary people can't stay in the Divine Speed for too long. I've never tried it, but I'll try."
With that, he took Diana's hand, and they disappeared in a flash of lightning. Soon, he returned and said, "It worked. But from now on, we might have to stay inside the Divine Speed and can't come out; otherwise, we'll be quickly eroded away."
"Hurry up then," Ron said, "Leave this to us, just keep yourselves safe."
Barry nodded and then left. The remaining people were somewhat silent. At this moment, Hal emerged from the Teleportation Portal, and Clark looked at him and asked, "How are you?"
"The battle situation on Apocalypse Star is very tense. But fortunately, the Lamp heroes have surrounded the Apocalypse Domain, preventing Darkseid from sending troops to take advantage of the situation."
"I'm not asking about Apocalypse Star; I mean you, are you okay?"
Hal paused and then asked, "What's the matter? Did something happen to Diana and them?"
"Their erosion suddenly worsened. It's probably the behind-the-scenes manipulator's doing. Are you okay?"
Hal looked at his arm and found that the corpse spots seemed to have indeed deepened. He said, "Green Lantern Energy has a suppressive effect on Black Light Energy. Mine has developed more slowly."
"That's good," Clark breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Don't let your guard down. If there's any issue, retreat immediately."
Hal nodded, also warning, "Now, I'm afraid you're a thorn in their side; they'll surely find ways to pollute you. Be careful."
After saying that, he glanced at his phone, saw Shiller calling him over, waved his hand, and flew toward Wayne Manor.
Now, the Justice League was directly missing two leading figures. Don't underestimate Diana and Barry; although they're not the strongest, they're indispensable. Diana is the strong attacker leading the charge. Despite Divine Power's inability to suppress, she's highly skilled in combat, always entangling the enemy, making escape difficult. Barry is even more crucial. He can use Divine Speed to help teammates evade attacks, providing assurance for their all-out efforts. With both down, the situation began to turn unfavorable.
As Clark was about to discuss the next battle plan, an alarm came from the direction of the nail. The Black Death Day, just vanquished, had returned once more.
Clark couldn't help but close his eyes. Who could withstand this?
Indeed, vanquishing these people didn't take too much effort. The one who expended the most was Arthur since he had to continuously seize control of the sea water, aiding Superman in killing Atlanna. Yet Superman and Ron still had half of their Physical Strength left, and killing them a few more times wouldn't be a problem.
But the opponents could be infinitely resurrected, while they only had one life, and once polluted, they were entirely unusable. How should they fight this?
"The key should lie with the rings," Arthur thought aloud and said, "Hal told me before if there's no ring, Green Lantern can't directly manipulate Green Lantern Energy. Similarly, if we can remove these people's rings, they should have no way to resurrect."
"What if the Black Death Emperor gives them another ring?"
"I don't think it's that simple," Clark also thought and said, "If the rings could be distributed infinitely, Earth would already be swarming with resurrected spirits. Even if they're not as powerful as Atlanna and Savage Wolf, they would certainly cause significant trouble. Since it's not happening, there must be some sort of limit on those rings."
"I agree," Arthur said, "Moreover, remember, these spirits appeared first, then the rings did. Perhaps only spirits resurrected by the Power of Death can wear the rings; living people probably can't use them."
"And that so-called Black Death Emperor, he can't directly descend here; he can only send some Strength through the barrier. That Strength must be limited, unable to resurrect many people. He already burned through a lot resurrecting fake family members before, and the plan totally failed. Now, trying frontal assault is showing signs of shortage."
"If we can seize the rings, we'll definitely consume some of his Strength, and can delay the resurrection of those spirits."
Clark nodded and said, "Alright, next, we'll try to snatch the rings, but be careful not to get polluted."
