"Will they really go looking for it?" Deathstroke asked.
"Of course," said Shiller. "But they're not banking on the Justice League to save them. I've emphasized to them many times that the mural holds mysterious power. They're likely seeking to master that power."
"Do they want to become superpower users?"
"No one would pass up the chance," Shiller said. "They're at the end of their rope; if they don't do this, they won't be able to escape Cairo. They'll just get caught. They have no choice but to take a desperate gamble."
"But can they actually find it?" Deathstroke asked.
Shiller shook his head and said, "Of course not. I don't expect them to find it either."
"Then what are you up to?"
"I'm using them to send a message," Shiller said. "Not only won't they manage to get the mural, they might get captured by the person behind the scenes. He'll get an important piece of information from them— that the mural has mysterious power."
Deathstroke squinted his eyes, then said, "Looks like there's an issue with this power. Are you trying to make him blow himself up?"
"Not likely. But he will definitely try to study the mural. And if he finds something, Diana will react."
Sure enough, Diana soon called, saying, "There's some fluctuation in the Power of Seven Lanterns; what did you do?"
"Nothing, ma'am. Can it guide us?"
"Guide you?"
"Yes. Some power on the mural has been activated, and there might be a connection forming between them. I need the Power of Seven Lanterns to guide me."
"Sorry, I don't quite understand. Hold on for a moment." Diana put the call on hold. Soon, Green Lantern's voice came from the other end: "Flash delivery, please take it."
As soon as he spoke, a golden flash appeared before them. The Main Universe Flash handed something to Shiller and said, "This is something Batman developed to monitor the Power of Seven Lanterns. But we've never used it; you'll have to figure it out yourself."
"You've been really helpful, sir."
The Flash smiled at them and vanished.
Shiller looked at the device in his hand. Batman always had such foresight, or perhaps he made this device specifically for finding The First Lantern. But before it could be used, it ended up hanging there unusable.
It was simple to operate after all; there was just one button on it. Pressing it would display the energy concentration nearby and indicate the direction where the energy is stronger. This made it convenient for Shiller to use.
With this device in hand, they started searching around Cairo. The energy readings never hit zero, indicating there was indeed something abnormal nearby. Using the device to guide them closer, they eventually found themselves back at the Egyptian Museum.
"I knew that guy couldn't be trusted," Deathstroke said. "After all this, the mural is still in his hands."
But Shiller shook his head, saying, "Hayven is probably gone; if the mural was still with him, he wouldn't leave."
Deathstroke finally realized: "Could it be hidden in plain sight?"
Shiller nodded and said, "Do you think Hayven is a good curator?"
"Not at all," Deathstroke said, "He swaps out artifacts and lines his pockets."
"The important thing is that he doesn't care about artifacts that aren't his own," Shiller said. "I bet he hasn't even toured the Egyptian Museum in full."
"That's a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it?"
Shiller shook his head: "Especially those famous exhibition halls swarming with tourists, holding no interest for him. It's hard to swap out artifacts since there are so many photos of them. He might never even glance at those. So if the mural is hidden there, he's unlikely to find it."
They got out of the car and walked into the museum. Shiller glanced at the directory in the hall and then said, "Tutankhamun Hall, let's go."
"Aren't you going to check the device?" Deathstroke asked.
"Do you know what's depicted on the mural?"
"It's not Tutankhamun, is it?"
"Congratulations, you guessed right."
"Wait a minute, you've never found the mural, how do you know? ... Oh, wait, did you really create the mural?"
Deathstroke still couldn't accept this revelation, whereas Shiller just smiled and said nothing.
The Egyptian Museum is quite large; the second floor houses thematic exhibition halls, and the Tutankhamun Hall they're looking for is there. Before they even went in, the device sounded an alarm. Shiller took it out and saw the readings were off the charts.
"You don't need to look at that," Deathstroke glanced inside the hall and said, "It's glowing over there."
Shiller also looked in that direction, and indeed, a glow was emerging from behind one wall, not resembling typical lighting. There was also some commotion inside, and Deathstroke instinctively pulled out his sword.
But Shiller, deep in thought, stopped him, signaling for him to follow closely behind. Then he slowly entered.
Going around the wall, Deathstroke finally saw the true face of the mural—a gigantic snake roamed between the sky and earth, a green gemstone embedded in its tail, with a massive pyramid behind it. The sky was adorned with a brilliant shower of meteors. At this moment, the entire mural was glowing.
Another figure slowly emerged from behind the mural. The moment he saw him, Deathstroke was dumbfounded.
"Joseph?!!!"
Joseph stood amidst the glow emanating from the mural, his deep blue eyes darkened. He stared at Deathstroke without a word.
"You..."
Deathstroke was at a loss for words. How was it Joseph? How could he be here? Did he take the mural, and why would he do that?
