As Yamato used Sole Supremacy on Phoebe, her being the fourth person to ever be under its effects, it worked as expected. With the status effect Inferior Entity, Phoebe temporarily lost her status as Incarnation of Sloth, as well as all abilities tied to that title. Though, her physical abilities of course did not need to be lowered, since they were already inferior to Yamato in any way. With the disappearance of the ability itself, the Sloth Particles disappeared along with the Sloth Roots, leaving nothing but a damaged floor behind. Phoebe, who until now had remained perfectly still sitting on the ground turned away from them, now began regaining her senses. Rubbing her eyes, she looked around feeling strangely energetic. So naturally, once she spotted Yamato and Yuki, she ran up to them
"Phoebe had a nightmare again… Everything was dark in the hallways and she and her firends were chased by a monster! But misses Maid protected her, until she woke up on the ground with a headache and everything went blurry, until she actually woke up right now!"
"Well… Lady Phoebe, that did happen though…"
"Nuh uh! If it did, then how come now everything's back to normal and Violetta is no longer with Phoebe!"
"Violetta and the others went to get your parents, Lady Phoebe… As to why the lights turned back on…"
"It was me~", Yuki proudly exclaimed.
"Mommy turned the lights back on? Did she find the light switch?"
"No silly, mommy surpassed this place in its entirety! With the minor exception of the barrier, but it is only a matter of time, before mommy conquers all!"
"Okay, Phoebe's rooting for mommy then!"
"Good girl. Now you should—"
Slow clapping echoed around the corner, steps getting closer as they spoke.
"Bravo, bravo. I never doubted your abilities, Pride and Envy. Though I am surprised to see Sloth still be so senselessly attached…"
Sir Zonar, who had waited until now chose to leave the initial room now that the threat presumably had been dealt with. But not before pretending to go check out the situation to the other nobles, despite knowing it was already safe again.
"I'm sure you took quite the risk, I am quite grateful for that. However, you must excuse me for I am now going to get my niece and nephew. Until we meet again, my fun little rulers."
"Excuse me?", Yuki seethed at Zonar.
"Ahahaha, I'm sure you will remain as useful to me in the future."
His arrogant and almost comical laugh irritated Yuki so much, if not for Phoebe's presence, the situation would have surely escalated. Instead, Yuki chose to be the bigger person. This decision was supported by her inherent superiority, which allowed her to ignore the words of lesser life forms, if she felt like it. Though the logic of a true narcissist, it surprisingly resulted in the healthy response. Not so healthy was waiting for Phoebe to fall asleep, which took less then one minute after she was picked up, and the going to the center of this anomaly with outright homocidal intent. Of course, the situation itself was far too severe to be overlook edit or forgiven jusg like that. So she would not be the bigger person this time. In factc, she decided she planned on being extremely petty regarding this. Despite neither Yamato nor her actually getting harmed, one thing she was still mad about where the "repulsive" gnome creates, which seemed to have disappeared or at least never returned after their trials ended. Deciding she cared too little about them to further investigate, with Phoebe in arms, the four went through the mansion with Yuki's directions. After what felt like four right turns over and over again, they stood in front of a final dark room, the door being slightly open already. However before they could enter, they were surprised to find Sir Bronelli catch up to them, even though he was out of breath.
"Wait… Phew… Please, let me come with you as well… This situation endangered my son, and I will personally make someone will oay for that."
"No offense but whta could you possibly contribute…"
"Not much, I'm sure… But even so, I ask you take me with you, and let me get at least one chance…"
"Urgh… Fine, I guess… But there won't be peaceful discussions happening behind that door, y'know?"
"I hoped and expected as much…"
Before opening the door, Yuki look a quick loo at Phoebe, who seemed to be under the assumption that she would be coming with them.
"Trishy, you wait outside with Phoebe."
"Huh…? But Phoebe soent this entire time looking for mommy and daddy! How come she has to go again already…"
"We will stay super close, right behind that door. And now we know where the other is at all times so it's fine, right? Mommy and I just need to take care of this so we can leave."
"Okay… Phoebe will accept it then…"
"Good girl."
After giving Phoebe a goodbye head pat, Yamato, Yuki and Bronelli stepped through the door, where fhey saw a wooden table in the distance, a small metal music box siting on it playing a slow, bell like melody. But most important of all, a man cowering beneath the table, sitting there in fear and misery. A man Yamato could only identify as Bambini, according to posture, height, and of course his clothes and mask.
The music suddenly stopped, its soothing and gentle tone disappearing making the room feel completely different now. Sad and isolated. Even though it had been so from the beginning, the music made it seem different until now. As they approached the man, he suddenly turned towards them at the sound of their steps, holding his hands protectively over his head despite already having cover under the table and he yelled out to them.
"B-be gone, you monsters! I have nothing of value for you!"
"It seems to misunderstand the situation. You are not being robbed or anything of the sorts.", Yamato responded calmly as he looked Bambini up and down.
"T-then leave already…"
"The barrier prevents us from doing so."
"I can't help you with that… So please, just leave me alone…"
"How does that work? It came with your arrival. What would make us stop from assuming it would leave with your disappearance?"
"Ngh! N-no, that's not true…! I have nothing to do with it! I'm nobody…!"
"Are you not Bambini? The Great, The Only?"
"…No."
"Now you will have to do even more explaining I'm afraid."
"I'm just a regular guy… I can't even use magic… Not the kind of this world anyway… So please, just try to solve this on your own!"
"Preposterous! You where the one killing right in front of us! Not even Head of Church Yuki's attacks were able to harm you, yet, we are supposed to believe you to be just a powerless bystander!?", Bronelli said stepping forward.
"I don't know what you are talking about… I just used this place to make a scene! Since I'm usually here by my self, I thought I might as well use the opportunity…"
"Opportunity to do what exactly?", Yamato curiously asked, though he already believed to know the answer.
"To be seen…"
"I see… I understand it now. You say you cannot use magic of this world. I believe you."
"Y-you do?"
"But you can use another kind of magic, can't you?"
"H-huh?"
"I'm talking about this kind, of course… Yuki, a deck of cards, please."
Yuki handed him a regular deck of cards stored in her pocket dimension. However it was not entirely regular, as Yamato noticed after opening it, when the backside of each card was revealed to be cute drawings of them cuddling together. However, that was something everyone present chose to not point out and simply accept. He look a quick look at their order, which was standard except for the jokers of the deck being him and her as well. After shuffling the cards, Yamato spread them out like a fan, before holding them out to Bambini.
"Pick a card?"
He hesitantly extended his arm out from under the table, to grab a random card from the deck. Yaamto of course could not know which card it would be. Bambini picked a card close to the edges, and looked closely at it.
"A-and now…?"
"Bambini, your card… Is the 8 of Hearts."
"H-how did you know…? I didn't see any shuffling tricks or card swaps…"
"So you are familiar with typical card tricks? Because you are that kind of magician, yes?"
"T-that's right… But how do you know all this?"
"Well, you say you used this place to change the scene. And even though I don't know how yet, I know the intend and kind of performance you chose, which was strongly resembling theater or a circus. We quite literally saw a circus at one point too. Your general presentation and posture also reminded me of a magician, alongside your attire. Then of course, your mention of being able to use another kind of magic… Which brings me to my final question… You are not from this world, are you?"
"O-of course I am!"
"There is no need to lie, I won't tell anyone. Besides, I already know it anyway. Confirmation is just a matter of politeness."
"…Yes, it's true… I come from a world much different from this one, where there is no actual magic, and I had to result to cheap tricks and try to imitate magical appearance… But before anything else, please tell me how you knew my card. Did you use actual magic? And who are you, that you can seem to know me so well…"
"I did not use any magic for it. I remembered the position of every card, and adjusted their position according to the way I shuffled. So even as I held out the cards to you without seeing them, I knew which card was where for all of them."
"T-that's amazing…"
"As to who I am, my name is Yamato Tasumaki. And I am God."
At his declaration, the music box began to shake, and a white smoke released from it. The next moment, on top of the table sat a woman with long black hair braided together to a single long breaid, that moved as if it was weightless under water, going up down and in whatever direction it seemed to want almost like a snake looking for food by turning and slithering through the air. Wearing a baggy white pants and a top with her stomach exposed, her beauty was on full display, her orange eyes piercing through Yamato's. Sitting with her legs crossed and her head resting on her hand, she looked relaxed and comfortable without a care in the world.
"God? That's most interesting stuff you've chosen to spit out into the world. Yet I find it hard to believe a little boy such as yourself would be worthy of that title."
