Determined not to give him that satisfaction, Kisha kept her attention fixed on a random spot near his shoulder instead of looking directly at him.
Even so, the warmth creeping across her cheeks refused to subside.
Meanwhile, Duke merely watched her struggle with barely concealed amusement dancing in his eyes. The corners of his lips twitched upward, and although he said nothing, his expression alone made it obvious that he was thoroughly enjoying her predicament.
Which only made Kisha want to look at him even less.
"Hmm, I'll handle the cooking. You should head upstairs and take a hot bath before the water gets cold."
Duke stopped teasing his wife the moment he noticed the embarrassment lingering on her face. Besides, now that his subordinates had returned, there was no longer any time for him to fool around. He knew Kisha was preparing for a mission outside the city, and there were matters that demanded her full attention.
