The following morning, Coral entered the breakfast room and found Belle staring at a letter.
"What are you reading?" Coral asked.
Belle quickly folded the paper.
"Nothing."
Coral narrowed her eyes.
"Belle."
Her daughter sighed and handed her the letter.
"It came from one of the servants. She heard the guards talking about something they found in the forest."
Coral unfolded the paper.
As she read, her expression changed.
"A royal seal?"
Belle nodded.
"They say it belonged to Grandmother's missing daughter."
Coral looked up sharply.
"Who told you that?"
"I do not know. Everyone is whispering about it."
Coral immediately folded the letter.
"This is dangerous."
"Why?"
"Because people will start asking questions. If the seal belonged to Jasmine's mother, then they will want to know why it was found in the forest."
Belle looked confused.
"But why would that matter to us?"
Coral stared at her daughter.
