His eyes lit up. "Miss, are you willing to learn how to knit gloves just for me?"
"Because I can't do it yet," she replied.
He grinned. "HEH HEH, are you gradually developing feelings for me?"
"HEH HEH!" she retorted.
"What does 'HEH HEH' mean?" he asked.
"It means smiling without speaking."
He was utterly dumbfounded.
"Honey, I'm just thankful that you introduced me to a great house," she said. "What does love or dislike have to do with it? I'm purely expressing my gratitude, so don't go flattering yourself."
"Miss, you're no fun when you're like this. You're not being sincere at all."
"Then how else would you like me to show my gratitude?"
"Offering yourself in return would work, you know."
She burst into laughter. "Be serious. Give me your address, and I'll send you the gloves when I've finished knitting them."
"No rush," he said. "I'll come pick them up myself when they're ready."
"Fine. I'll treat you to a big meal then too."
