It was the day before the presentation for Sir Ellias. Aylin had a feeling of uncertainty. She thought it would be best to go over her data one more time and confirm her conclusion. After finishing she still felt uneasy as if she was forgetting about something. Then she remembered. Mr. Willis, she needed to talk to him to find out if his experience in the capitol would aid to her data.
Aylin grabbed her notebook and put on her cloak to meet Mr. Willis. Aylin approached Mr. Willis's door and knocked. She waited a moment and knocked again. On her third attempt there was an answer. Mr. Willis was standing in the opened doorway. He looked uneasy as if he was expecting someone dangerous at the door. Aylin looked at him and smiled to try to ease his nerves.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Willis. I'm Aylin. How are you today." Aylin said cheerfully.
"I'm alright." Mr. Willis replied while shaking the nerves out of his system. "What brings you here Aylin?"
Aylin explained her task assigned to her by Sir Ellias to Mr. Willis. As well as her interest in his experience at the capitol.
"If that's all your asking, how about you come inside and we can talk." Mr. Willis said.
Mr. Willis lead Aylin to the sitting area. The house was narrow and built like a rectangle. The entirety of the main main floor was open to allow the heat from the fireplace to reach the entire home. Aylin sat in a chair left of the fireplace, and Mr. Willis sat in a chair adjacent to Aylin's chair. Now seated Mr. Willis offered tea, but Aylin declined.
"Mr. Willis could you tell me what the capitol was like? Were there many sick people?" Asked Aylin.
"By the time I arrived most of the sick had gotten better. They had found a medicine that cures Siccara." Replied Mr. Willis.
"They did!" Aylin exclaimed. "What is the medicine made out of?"
"The medicine ... I think they said it was called Catsroot." Replied Mr. Willis.
"Catsroot, That would make sense. Catsroot is a cure all remedy, but it is extremely difficult to find. It would be impossible to distribute on a mass scale like in the the capitol. Are you sure it is Catsroot?" Do you have any of the medicine with you?"
"Yes, I do. I grabbed some on my way home in case I ever needed it." Said Mr. Willis.
Mr. Willis got out of his chair and walked to the kitchen. There he opened a drawer and grabbed the medicine. He walked backed and handed it to Aylin. She inspected the fibrous powder as Mr. Willis sat back down. Aylin took her finger and stuck it into the medicine. She then took her finger now covered in the medicine and stuck it into her mouth. After tasting the medicine she had a disgusted look on her face.
"Gross! It sure does taste like Catsroot with out a doubt!" Exclaimed Aylin.
"It taste like Catsroot?" Mr. Willis Asked.
"Catsroot has a distinct horrible taste." Aylin replied, and then asked "Do you know who distributed the medicine. I would like to know how they were able to obtain so much Catsroot."
"I got it from the Orlin Trading Company. They were the only ones distributing the medicine." Replied Mr. Willis.
"The Orlin Trading Company, I'll have to look into that at another time. I have one more question Mr. Willis. Do you know if they found the cause of the spread of Siccara?" Asked Aylin.
"No, they have not found the cause of the spread yet." Replied Mr. Willis.
Aylin sat there in silence for a moment before standing up.
"Thank you Mr. Willis for answering my questions. It helped a lot." Aylin said as she began to leave Mr. Willis's home.
Mr. Willis seemed perplexed by Aylin's sudden exit. She seemed to have realized something in that moment.
