Valentine thought for a moment and nodded, "It's really strange. I asked him, but he wouldn't say anything. He's being so secretive."
"You'd better not go out alone. I think there's more to this than it seems."
Mark Reed frowned.
Something felt off, truly off, but he couldn't pinpoint what exactly was wrong.
Perhaps it was time to investigate the institution that does DNA tests. Maybe some clues will surface.
Valentine's heart suddenly raced, and she patted her chest, "You're scaring me."
Mark didn't want to put psychological pressure on Valentine, so he smiled and put his arm around her shoulder, comforting her, "What are you afraid of? I'm here, no need to be scared."
Hopefully, he's just being paranoid!
If she does find her family, it would indeed be good news.
"Yes, with you by my side, I'm not afraid. They said they'd call me when the results are out. Do you think they could really be my family?"
