The food was ready, but Fu Mingyu and Anan were still playing happily together. Yu Yu, who had originally been building blocks with Chi Jingxuan, kept glancing over his shoulder. Eventually, he abandoned Chi Jingxuan, crawling over to squeeze in beside Fu Mingyu and Anan. There they were, one big and two small, playing the boring game of picking up balls.
Chi Jingxuan looked at Fu Mingyu who was winking at him, then glanced down at the blocks in his hands, his expression momentarily frozen.
"Oh dear, look at this dad. The children don't even want to play with you—what a failure..."
Fu Mingyu said, shaking his head with mock sympathy. But his eyes were full of schadenfreude and smugness.
Chi Jingxuan's gaze slid past Anan as he pouted nonchalantly, "That's because you don't show up often. To them, you're a guest, so they give you face and entertain you. In their hearts, Dad is naturally the most important."
