The comment forcibly reminded Karl that they were not working with the same logic that he understood.
Apparently, everyone in this city, except for the council members, was considered to be a slave. However, while they claimed that there was no distinction, the Elves clearly looked down on the humans.
Karl had thought that it was just a matter of social standing, that the people at the edge of the city where it had collided with the Guild Village were simply poor.
But that wasn't really the case.
They were the slaves who did the dirtiest of jobs, and the entire city was still treated as livestock, mortal resources for the Council of Elders, and any other Immortals still in the pocket dimension.
The problem was that some of them were too powerful to be taken lightly, and he hadn't thought to bring in a Supreme with him that could take care of the situation.
Perhaps it might be best to just let the Clans loot this place?
