Ankhseram expected many kinds of expressions from Karna the moment he revealed his final plan of ascending further after sacrificing every life on Earthland.
He expected Karna to shout in anger, or maybe cry in helplessness. He even expected him to fight till the end or maybe accept defeat silently as a form of rebellion.
But a look of pity was the last thing he expected to see in the eyes of his adversary.
"Why do you look at me like that, boy?" Ankhseram asked with irritation in his voice.
Karna didn't reply for a moment. He paused as if thinking whether he should speak out or not. But he then chuckled a bit as if realising that revealing it would be more fun than keeping it in.
"I didn't understand why it would take you thousands of years to complete the process to gain complete control over the domain of death. But hearing you now, I understand.
It is not that you are untalented or less talented than average. It's because this domain itself is reluctant to make you its god.
Basically, Ankhseram, your ideology and idea about death itself are so pathetic that the realm itself knows that you are unworthy to receive its power. That's the reason why it was so slow for you to obtain complete control over it.
The reason it took decades for you to even learn how to use your senses in here, the reason why the realm required you to have an absurd amount of energy to obtain control over it, all of it was because of your misguided views on the idea of death itself.
Let me guess, you might have tried to gain more magic by spreading your fame as a god of death who curses anyone who encroaches upon the domain of the dead, right?
Were you trying to channel magical energy created by the emotions of fear generated by people who learned about you?
Sadly, all that did was reduce your chances of understanding the world itself.
I don't feel any sort of anger towards you.
All I feel is pity."
Ankhseram's face had darkened as Karna kept on speaking out loud.
Telling him that his failures and lack of success were caused not by talent but because of his ideology had angered him thoroughly.
He had been born without much talent a thousand years ago in the advanced magi-technological city of Nirvana. But his lack of talent did not discourage him.
It only made him realise the truth of the world. He realised that it was unfair. But Ankhseram decided that even if he was born weak, he would one day be the strongest existence in the world.
He worked hard, managing to obtain a post that allowed him to watch the finest minds of the world and their creations. But while watching them in the research institute, he realised another fact.
He realised that a human lifetime is limited and that, no matter what, they will have to die one day, with most not even achieving what they dedicated their whole lives to.
He saw many of the researchers completing works that were already almost completed by their predecessors. The original creators were not credited with the accomplishment because they died before it was completed.
Ankhseram decided that he wouldn't live a life where his hard work would be taken over by others.
He then decided to become a god so as to surpass this limitation. He wanted to be immortal, undying, a being that would not have to worry about mortality like all other living creatures.
From then on, he began taking steps to complete this plan. He made researchers in the institute search and research about the gods of the world.
He learned about the different domains like fire, water, earth, air, time, life, etc., and about how each god has complete dominion over their domains.
And through research, Ankhseram's subordinates discovered something that made Ankhseram realise that he was on the right track.
The domain of death lacked a god.
Realising the significance of this discovery, he realised he had to move fast to take full control of this opportunity.
He killed all the researchers who were researching the domains of gods and then began to change the settings of the Nirvana cannon that was made to invert evil into goodness. Normally, the cannon was supposed to change evil to good, and the evil energy that was created in return was released into the atmosphere in low amounts, which dissipated quickly and was not at all harmful to anyone.
But Ankhseram altered the entire device and made it release the evil energy into the lives of the citizens themselves, destroying the entire population with his own two hands.
He did it because of the research he had obtained from the researchers he killed. The god of fire was a fire wizard who managed to create a fire that burned down mountains. The god of air managed to manipulate the atmosphere of an entire country before he became a god. The god of darkness had plunged an entire country into pure darkness.
So Ankhseram decided to do the same thing to obtain control over the domain of the dead. He decided to kill every single individual in Nirvana by causing the complete collapse of the city with his very own hands.
Due to him conducting so much senseless murder, he obtained permission to ascend to the domain of the dead.
This achievement only affirmed his belief that the only way he could be the strongest was through the path he chose.
And now, listening to Karna say that his entire life was wrong, Ankhseram was filled with so much anger that he decided not to waste any more time on Karna.
He raised his hand and suddenly it was filled with a dense amount of death energy.
FINAL DEATH….ABSOLUTE END!!
He muttered and threw the dense energy towards Karna with the belief that this would end the fight.
Seeing the attack, Karna did not fight. He calmly accepted the attack without even a hint of fear in his eyes.
A/N - Hope you like it. Sorry about the erratic rate of posting chapters, I am currently going through a few exams.
