The Underworld is has the landmass three times the size of earth if it was drained of its oceans. Due to the many Pantheons in the world every one has a part of the territory yet still a large part of this wasteland is unclaimed. Only wild demonic beasts live there. The little ferial land that it has has been claimed by the Fallen Angels, the Devils and the original inhabitants of the land the Demons.

There are many areas classified as Danger Zones. The inhabitants of the Underworld just call them the 'Pits'. Because they quite literally large deep holes in the ground. A cave system going down hundreds of meters. A breeding ground for demonic beasts.

The underworld also had strange climates and zones. The area where the devils settled was engulfed in darkness. Only recently did the new Maous make a fake sun to make it easier for the Reincarnated devils to adapt.

The area where the Fallen settled was almost always day. They chose this location because the light reminds them of heaven. And just like devils are stronger during the night, angels are stronger during the day. Fallen angels can do both, but its mostly due to nostalgia that they search for the light.

Naturally as any faction does, in Grigori there are people who hold different opinions. Azazel being the schemer and manipulator that he is, saw where the Great War was going.

Grigori was in the worst position and likely they were going to be the first to get eliminated. After all, Heaven had God, The four Archangels and the ten Seraphs. The Devils had Lucifer and three powerful demons that were turned into Devils, along with the 72 Devil Clans and various demons.

Grigori only had him as the powerhouse after their strongest member Azraelthe Angel of Death perished, what was left were the Cadres along with a large amount of troops due to all the angel falling, many were dissatisfied with the way God their Creator handled things, others just fell to Sin.

After God and the Maous fell it was a perfect opportunity for Grigori to strike. But Azazel was always worried about Heaven going nuclear. And with God gone, they might have just done that. So he pulled back his troupes, letting Heaven and the Devils duke it out lowering their numbers even further until a ceasefire was declared.

Many Fallen still blame Azazel, especially Kokabiel who claimed they would have won the war if they kept going. On the other side many are grateful for the peace Azazel had managed to get for the Fallen.

With his diplomatic skills, Peneume's management and Shemhazai handling domestic matters and Baraquiel handling the Military, Grigori was running like a well oiled machine.

Unlike the Devils which were a complete government with Lords and lands. Grigori was more structures as an Organization. The top leaders handled everything while the others had missions and jobs. Azazel made sure that they had plenty of off or vacation time. They have a work and life balance with work being doing things they enjoy.

Violent Fallen go to handle threats, those who fell because of Lust work in Azazel's Oppai Bars, they get to have sex and collect information. The more lazier ones work in Grigori as logistics or research. They get to do things they love and have vacations. There was little to complain about.

And this style of living let them raise their numbers that dropped after the Great War. Of course compared to the Devils who raised their numbers rapidly with their Reincarnated Slaves.

Grigori also recruited some Sacred Gear users, but it was a genuine recruitment and counted as extra forces. They were well compensated for their positions and the work they do. Not that they don't kill any humans who are a threat to them. Sacred Gear users are just tools to them, employees. Many of these Sacred Gear users join in Grigori's schools. After they have been trained they join Grigori.

~ Azazel's office.

Unlike most powerful people who make fancy offices with expensive furniture and books. Azazel's office was quite modern and somewhat minimalistic.

He prefers to spend as little time as possible in his office, the one thing he hates most is the never ending flow of paperwork. His worst enemy that keeps him away from his labs and Oppai Bars.

Strangely enough Oppai Bars are a big part of his job as well. He meets important people there and gets them to relax. No matter how tough men were, unless they were on constantly on guard they would mellow out a bit from the alcohol, the beautiful half naked woman dancing in front of them and Azazel's charisma.

He knew just what to say to make them relax and be more open minded about making deals with Grigori. Frankly the main reason Grigori is even doing so well is because of all the contacts and allies Azazel has gathered throughout his long life.

His way of living is also proof of that. Always having a perfect appearance, wearing just the right clothes for the occasion, remembering every detail about the person he was meeting. For Grigori his greatest talent is not his power or his intellect. Its his unapparelled diplomatic skill. The Fallen are also part of the Biblical faction which is universally hated across the Supernatural world, yet barely anyone has any grief with Grigori.

The man was a pervert and genius. The Heart and Brain of Grigori. And at the moment he was scratching his head as he was looking through reports on his desk. Azazel was stumped, something that rarely happened.

"Who the hell is this fallen? For once all of my men are accounted for. Did another one of my brothers and sisters fall from heaven but still kept to the teachings of Father?"

Penemue sent the word out to look for a Stray Fallen helping out humans and hunting Stray Exorcists and Devils. And what did they find out? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

No clues, rarely any witnesses and all that was left was the traces of the battle which was cleaned from any magical signatures. Even physical clues as footprints were gone.

He had considered that it was one of his own people going 'AWOL'. (absent without leave)

There were a few fallen who came to mind but none of them would even consider hunting stray devils and helping out humans. Many fallen dislike humans, well early humanity is more accurate.

God paid much more attention to humans than his own children, and he gave unreasonable commands which caused most of them to fall. Instead of helping or guiding his children he created Sacred Gears to help out humanity.

They fought, bleed and died for him. Spreading his faith, conquering other pantheons. And what did they get in return? One small mistake and they are banished from their home, their 'Holy Light' stripped away, leaving them with a fraction of its purity.

After large numbers of Angels fell, Azazel and Azreal started gathering the Fallen as there was strength in numbers. As more and more Angel fell, they decided they need a system an organization. Hence Grigori was created. 'The Watchers'.

And ever since they backed off the Great War things have been doing great for them.

Azazel looked at another report and grimaced.

Except for a few whining individuals. Kokabiel bitching as always wanting to be more aggressive.

'Why can't the take a hint!' Azazel pinched the bridge of his nose as he read through the request from Kokabiel to increase the funds in Military Division 8. His division Kokabiel's Legion. Ten thousand fallen personally trained by him. Even if they were on the weaker side, their teamwork was flawless even in large numbers.

Kokabiel has been doing military drills and tactics for hundreds of years. And without a war to show use them he was getting even more war hungry.

'And its not even him.' Satanael has been asking for more and more rare materials. Which is nothing unusual as a researcher. But its the type of materials that has Azazel worried. Satanael has been acquiring large amounts of poisons. And materials that can withstand that poison.

'Satanael is doing some of his crazy weapon ideas. But if it goes too far I might have to stop him. The last thing I need is his project blowing up in his face and poisoning the entire RnD Department.'

Knock

There was a single strong knock on the door and Azazel smiled. He already knew who it was.

"Come in Baraquiel."

A tall muscular man walked in his strong and heavy footsteps echoed in the office. Baraquel had the appearance of a middle aged gruff looking man with black hair and a matching beard.

"Yo back already?" Azazel asked with a small smirk and a bit of confusion. He was well aware that Baraquel's daughter was born a few months ago and had given the man some time off to be with the family. Especially now that he and his wife Shuri could finally have sex now.

"Yeah. I thought I'd dropped by to check on things" Baraquel said in a stoic expression. But even though he revealed nothing Azazael was suspicious. No fallen angels says no to a long vacation. Then it clicked and Azazel let out a wide grin.

"She drained you dry didn't she?"

Baraquiel's eyebrow twitched which caused Azazel to let out a roaring laughter.

"Hahahaha. I can't believe it, you Commander of Grigori's armies, the most physically strong Fallen Angel.. was drained dry by a frail human Miko. Hahahahaha" Azazel was gripping his desk for dear life otherwise he would have fallen off his chair.

Baraquiel coughed in his fist "Well her hormones are at her peak, and little Akeno is sleeping most of the time. So we decided to indulge"

Azazel smirked "Oh really is that why you are hiding your injuries. That's why you took those heavy steps didn't you. You didn't want me to notice the pain your body is in right now you damn Masochist"

Bara just palmed his face " This is exactly what I wanted to avoid, but now that its out in the open we can talk about something important.." he quickly pulled out a phone and shoved it in Azazel's face

"Look at that adorable sleeping face. I have the cutest daughter in the world!"

Azazel looked at the picture. A baby with a tuff of black hair and violet eyes was wrapped in a pink blanket and was sucking on her thumb. Her big eyes were almost sparkling as he imagined she was staring at Baraquel when this picture was taken.

"Yes, yes you doting father. Your daughter is very cute." Azazel passed him a drink

Baraquiel nodded with a satisfied smile as he picked up the glass of whiskey

"I can't wait until she becomes a teenager and gets a boyfriend"

CRACKKK!!!

The glass shattered in his hand and the whisky spilled on his hand and the floor.

"NO! I'll shatter the bones of any boy who dares approach Akeno!!" Baraquel declared as lightning started to flicker across his body

Azazel let out a low whistle, if his brothers in heaven could see this. The most stoic angel turned into a dotting overprotective father. Nobody would believe him. He decided to change the topic into something serious.

"Well now that you are here can you check on the Military Division?"

Baraquel instantly got serious. "You expecting trouble?"

"Something like that, we are currently in a Cold War with the Angels and Devils. But that doesn't stop outside forces making some moves for the Great War to start again. After all the one who benefits the most out of the Great War are outside forces. If Heaven is forced to go nuclear then even better. We all destroy each other and the rest come in to pick up whatever loot they can."

"Its them isn't it. The mystery organization" Baraquel said with a frown.

"Yeah" Azazel sighed. He had predicted someone was moving behind the scenes. Too many coincidences had happened recently. Old enemies suddenly stopped fighting, people disappearing, resources moved extremely subtly in large quantities that he discovered by pure luck.

He doesn't know anything about them, not their members, their capabilities or their goals. But he still has to make preparations just in case... better that then getting caught off guard

"Understood. I'll do some drills before I get back home"

"Thanks" Azazel nodded before he remembered something "Oh and stop being stupid. Leaving Shuri out there alone is a big risk. Bring her here in Grigori, I'll handle anyone who has complains about her connections Shinto Pantheon."

Baraquiel let out a wry smile 'If only it was that easy. Shuri wants to live in the shrine that her parent's left her. And it was obvious that she wore the pants in their relationship' "I'll keep that in mind"

Baraquel left the office leaving Azazael to deal with a mountain of paperwork he needed to finish before he got back to his research.
