Chapter 22 - HERE COMES HOPE

Gynesis looked the beast up and down as the middle head roared at her. 'this beast looks dangerous...' She thought to herself, balling a fist as she stared the beast down.

"I did not get finessed by some bargain-bin Instagram thirst-trap, and sent to what she calls her premium-tier romance basement just to get my cheeks clapped before the 30 minute mark." She grumbled under her breath, eyes locked on the agitated head's green orbs.

"Especially not by dollar tree Godzilla with the five head. This W will be MINE!" She added, this time speaking with her... generous chest, proclaiming victory before the battle's even begun.

It looks like Vinaya really did a number on her ego...

From mumbling to full on screaming, the new deity kept speaking, her words a verbal promise to both herself and you the readers. Which kept going because either the Hydra was utterly confused by what it was hearing, or just being a nice guy and letting her yap.

And I don't care what the cosmic price tag is! My left pinkie toe, my eyesight, my grandma's secret curry duck recipe! I'll sacrifice... EVERYTHING!"

Okay, I think she's losing it. And going by the Hydra's baffled expressions, all five heads canagree.

The Monkey's Paw curls a finger.

"…Hold up—wait, are you real? Like, for real real? How long as this been a feature for?" Suddenly calm again, Gynesis quickly started reconsidering her last spoken words with a hand on her hip. Sobered up by the text that appeared ominously above her head in a menacing font and deep gold color. Reality had smacked her like a truck.

Planeptune Basilicom_

Seated in the living room of Neptune's home, two Goddesses sat playing a fighting game. With both women transformed and leaning forward in concentration. A game about the very Goddesses themselves.

One was the oh so familiar Purple Heart, who was winning their little game with a calm and confident expression, playing as herself. The other goddess was a visiting Plutia aka Iris Heart, whose residence was in another dimension. Ultra dimension to be specific. And unlike her fellow Planeptunian leader, Iris Heart was looking anything but calm. She too, played herself.

"You think you can try to touch of death me and get away with it~?! just because you're the Sol of the series doesn't mean it transfers over to gameplay!" Teased, the visiting Goddess, her expression a mix of concentration and mild annoyance, currently on the back foot in-game as she found herself blocking a string of attacks from her opponent.

Iris Heart's clothes were akin to a dominatrix getup. She sat legs crossed in what looked like a black bikini with thigh highs and long gloves. There were traces of magenta on the thigh highs, gloves, and lower chest. She donned matching bracelets, high heels, earrings and a choker. With said choker holding up the chest section by two strings. Her hair free flowing in an iris blue while her eyes glowed slightly darkened shade of magenta.

"Hmph, tough talk for someone who had to tickle my tits to get me to drop my combo..." Purple heart clapped back, unfazed by the clear ragebait at work. Instead focussing on trying to defeat her enemy with chip damage. A plan that seems to be working rather well so far.

With a knowing chuckle, Neptune stole a glance over at Plutia, using her muscle memory and the sounds of blocking that filled the room to keep the fellow goddess right where she was. Quietly relishing in the fact that Plutia was unable to do anything more than stand there and take it from her.

The blue haired goddess, stuck in a corner deflecting 5050s and mixups like it's her 9-5, finally having had enough of getting pressed harder than a plastic bottle under a dump truck. She'd use her break away to push the goddess off of her and gain some necessary breathing room right when she'd hit 1% hp. The move itself being the cruel goddess pulling out a riding crop and smacking Purple heart with it in a backhand swipe. In game of course.

The move worked as intended, sending Purple Heart flying back mid-sword slash. Even leaving her open to get hit in retaliation by the once cornered goddess.

With the in game Iris Heart stating: "How will I get you to cry? Naturally, rope bondage is a perfect starting point..."

"it's over~! I win, Neppy~! I always win~!" Announced Iris Heart with a hearty laugh, popping her ultimate move the second the break away's animation was finished.

Purple Heart, whose hp bar was barely over half, inhaled sharply as she was forced to watch the cutscene of Iris Heart's ultimate attack. Which was a disrespectful barrage of attacks. Most of which were just getting stepped on in first person if we're being honest. Before getting promptly kicked in the face and sent flying.

It should've been enough to kill, but it wasn't. The final hit was just short, 1% just short. Putting both ladies on equal footing, no ultimate bar, one HP, and just enough meter for one SP skill- thanks to purple Heart burning all of her meter to continue her pressure just a few seconds ago.

After the ultimate had finished, in game Iris Heart then pulled out a whip of sorts, cracking it several times while in game Purple Heart got up to her feet. Meanwhile iris Heart herself was baffled by the fact that her ultimate didn't confirm her Victory. Stunned into a temporary silence, she started thinking up a new way to win, thinking of the massive arsenal of attacks at her disposal and which one would get her that win. Deciding on going for a last ditch effort, an SP skill

"Aww, my sweat is causing my leather to chafe. This one was quite the workout. I'll pay my discomfort back in full for all the muscles you made me overwork..." The ingame version of Iris Heart taunted, pulling out a whip and cracking it against the air a few times before striking an offensive pose with the weapon.

Over with Hyperdimension's Planeptunian goddess, she was still cool, despite the new pressure on her end via Plutia's desperate last stand. Her lips still curled into a confident smile, she waited until

"Is that so, Sadie?" Asked Perfect Heart, using the few frames of invincibility granted by recovering from getting hit with an ultimate and the confusion of her adversary to get a jab in. Which was all she needed to defeat the cruel goddess.

"SLASH!" The game's announcer shouted as Plutia was hit.

Sent crashing to her knees, Iris Heart let out a pained grunt before before collapsing flat on the floor, .

"I... lost?" Questioned both Sadies, their disbelief palpable on their faces.

"Winner, winner, chicken dinner!" Perked up Sadie's host, switching back to her parka wearing state and doing a little dance in celebration. both in game and out. While Iris Heart was busy trying to make her sulking not look obvious.

!!!!

The goddess's celebrations had gotten cut short however, as a wave of unmistakably evil aura washed over both Planeptunians. Stopping each transformed leader from what they were doing as they felt it.

"It feels like there's some meanies who really wanna be under my heel~" Plutia mused aloud, standing to her feet in one swift motion.

"Plutie~ As your host I can't have you working on your day off, now can I?" Neptune, who'd already retransformed now, stepped in front of her friend, half teasing, half serious.

The foreign deity cracked a small grin, stepping over to the open balcony, Purple Heart hot on her heels as she looked off at the source of the evil aura.

"I might be visiting on my day off, Neppy, but that's no excuse to leave meanies unpunished, now is it~?" She asked, glancing over her shoulder at her friend. "Plus, shouldn't we call the other goddesses?"

"Let's be real, Sadie, it's probably just another bank robbery from a corrupted adventurer or three again. It's a fairly common occurrence, after all."

Purple Heart debated casually with Iris Heart, stepping past her and onto the railing as she spoke. With the bluish haired woman doing nothing to stop her.

"Yeah, if it isn't. If the threat is more than just a couple of power drunk humans or a few monsters with an attitude problem. Would you lose?"

"Nah," The main character of her franchise chuckled before leaping off of the railing. "I will win."

With that, the purple haired goddess of Planeptune took off, Bee lining straight for where the wave of evil pulsed from, leaving Iris Heart in the Basilicom.

Sadie didn't waste time in chasing after her, however. In one motion, she too jumped off the building, flying right at where that aura came from.
