The Future Maitreya said, "No, Master, the Tang Dynasty's mandate still exists."
Monk Jingsi: "If no one acts, its mandate will always exist. If countless people act, its mandate will naturally be severed."
The Future Maitreya: "The Tang Dynasty's mandate is not exhausted. If you and Master Jingshan along with others rashly take risks, the result will only be harm to both others and yourselves. Perhaps it will further destabilize the dynasty's mandate, but more likely it will cause widespread suffering, which is not what we monastics should do."
Monk Jingsi said calmly, "Excuses, yesterday's cause leads to today's result. Your current words and actions are not without reason. Do you think no one else is aware of what you have done?"
The Future Maitreya: "Why do you say this, Master?"
