I was abruptly woken up by Naruto's voice as he exclaimed, "Where in the world is our sensei?!" finally losing the tiny patience he had.
Sakura gritted her teeth as she mumbled, "He's super late, even later than the two of you."
Naruto got up, grabbing an eraser as he rigged it to fall just when our sensei would enter, "That'll teach him!" he exclaimed with a large smile on his face.
Sakura rolled her eyes as she replied, "He'll never fall for that, Naruto; he's a jonin."
Not long after, the door finally began to open. We all turned our attention, anticipating who would walk through the door.
And while I already knew it would be Kakashi-sensei, I couldn't help it; this would be the first time I would have met him since I ended up in this show.
I had watched more non-canon episodes and chibi episodes than canon ones, and while I barely got past the first two canon episodes, my big brother had told me a ton about the show, which was how I knew a few things, like the host of the one tail.
But there was one reason I was interested in the show so much: because Kakashi-sensei always seemed like such a mysterious and intriguing character to me.
The tall Jonin with piercing black eyes stepped into the classroom as an eraser fell onto his silver-grey hair.
An eraser...
"The eraser!" Sasuke, Sakura, and I simultaneously whisper-shouted, remembering it.
Meanwhile, Naruto screamed out in joy, grinning and jumping around.
Sakura and I tried not to laugh as Kakashi-sensei stood at the door with the eraser on his head while Sasuke just mumbled, "Idiots."
"My first impression of you guys?" We all froze as he began to talk, "You're a bunch of idiots"
"Seriously!" I exclaimed, he was the one who was late by hours, you'd think he'd be nicer!
"We'll continue talking on the roof," he simply said, walking out.
Naruto ran out after him, ready to give him an earful, while Sakura followed after, annoyed.
"So what do you think of our new sensei? He's pretty interesting, don't you think?" I asked as I made my way to the roof with Sasuke.
Sasuke was silent for a moment before replying, "I don't care what his personality is like as long as he makes me stronger."
I sighed before running ahead of him, turning back, "Let's go; we don't want to keep them waiting, though seeing Sakura annoyed would be pretty satisfying."
Sasuke cracked a smile following me.
The four of us sat on the roof opposite our new sensei.
"I want you to introduce yourself. Your likes, dislikes, your future dreams, hobbies, things like that," Kakashi sensei explained.
Naruto was the first one to speak up as he excitedly said, "I'll start! I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I like the ramen from Ichiraku that Iruka-sensei treats me to. And my future dream is to surpass the Hokage!"
"I'm Sakura Haruno. What I like... I mean, who I like is," Sakura's face began turning bright red as she avoided looking at Sasuke for once, "And my hobby is... I mean..."
"And? What about your dislikes?" Kakashi sensei asked.
"Naruto!"
Naruto turned to Sakura, his lips trembling as he tried to hug her, screaming, "You don't mean it, do you, Sakura-chan?!"
But she dogged him, replying, "I do!"
"What about you?" Kakashi asked, completely ignoring Sakura and Naruto.
"I'm Sasuke Uchiha." As soon as Sasuke started talking, both of them stopped arguing, curious about what he would say, "I don't feel like summing up my goal as just a dream, but I do have an ambition. The ambition to restore my clan and, without fail... to kill a certain man."
As I looked at Naruto, I already knew what he was thinking ('He doesn't mean me, does he?!') and couldn't help but chuckle.
Kakashi sensei then turned to me as he said, "Well, you're the only one left."
I stopped laughing as I said, "I'm Hinoka. I like my friends and family. I dislike anyone who tries to harm them, and I also dislike Sakura."
I turned to Sakura with a grin on my face, and she looked like she wanted to punch me.
But I just ignored her murderous intent as I continued, "I guess you could say that my dream is more like a goal; it's to become a jonin that'll support Naruto when he becomes Hokage, to be a jonin that strikes fear in anyone just by the mention of my name... oh, and to have a sick nickname like you, Kakashi sensei! Big fan by the way."
Kakashi sensei paused before saying, "Ok, that's everyone. For now, we'll do what we can with four people. A survival exercise. Of 30 graduates, only nine will be recognised as junior ninjas." Kakashi sensei explained.
Naruto looked at Kakashi sensei, confused as he asked, "Wait, then what was the use of the graduation test?!"
"I'm guessing you at least have to be above that level to even be taken into consideration?"
Kakashi sensei simply nodded at my answer before he stood up.
"That's all, you're dismissed. Oh..." he turned back towards us one last time, his whole demeanour turning menacing as he warned, "And you'd best skip breakfast."
"What, why?!" Naruto exclaimed, but he was already gone.
Naruto turned towards me, trembling as he asked, "W-what do you think he meant, Hinoka?"
Sakura also looked at me, expecting an answer, as I simply shrugged, "No idea."
