Two days later, Maya arrived home later in the day, she got to her room and saw a fancy bag on her bed, she moved to see what was inside the bag.
"Wow!". She gasped to see an ocean blue chiffon off-shoulder dress with a slit. " This is beautiful" " She saw a note inside the bag and she read it to herself."wear this for dinner tomorrow", hmm, his taste in ladies' wear doesn't look as bad as I thought," she said and placed it on her closet before she left to the bathroom.
A few hours later, both were seated having their dinner with the maids surrounding them. Maya felt pity for them because of the way they all stood watching them and she could see how tired they looked.
"Um, I saw the dress you bought for me, thank you". she said.
" I thought you were the ungrateful type that doesn't say thank you when someone gifts them something". he said coldly and Maya frowned at him.
"Well, not everyone is as ungrateful as you think, I am not like you". she replied rudely.
" Yeah, right". He scoffs and the maids try to control their laughter over their attitude.
The next day, Mrs. Williams was busy putting the whole place together with the help of the maids. The dining table was filled with different meals and fruits.
"Now, we are ready". Mrs. Williams said happily, then her husband came down from his room looking elegant in his wear.
" Wow, honey, you look beautiful in that dress". Mr.Williams said complimenting his wife's outfit.
"You like it?". she asked as she moved to him.
" I love it, where did you buy it from? Did you order it online?". he questioned.
"No, I bought this dress from my son's shopping mall, and a young elegant lady chose this dress for me".
" Wow, she did choose well". he said and they laughed hugging each other lovely, then they got interrupted.
"What are you two doing? aren't you too old for this?" Theo questioned seeing the position his parents were and they turned to them quickly.
"What is wrong with what they are doing? Just admit that you are jealous because of the happy couple that they are, they are not the reason for you not finding true love". Ryan teased and rushed to hug his parents.
" I am glad you two could make it". she said.
"You look gorgeous in that outfit Mom". Theo said.
" Yeah, this is really amazing, you look like a sixteen years old girl". Ryan said.
"Aww! Thank you". she smiled and they left for the dining table.
" Wow, so delicious". Ryan said.
"Mom, don't you think this is too much for one night?" Theo questioned.
"No, this is for Jayden's guest". She said.
" Allow your mother to do it as she pleases, she had sleepless nights thinking about how today will go ". Mr. Williams said.
" Am just so happy to meet my grandchild," she said happily.
"Mom, the child hasn't been born yet". Theo said.
"Is the same thing".
" What is taking them so long?"Mr.Williams wonders.
"You know your son, Dad, always taking his time". Theo said.
" He should hurry, am starving". Ryan said.
Jayden drove into the villa with Maya, the chauffeur opened the door for them and they stepped down Maya stared amazingly at the building, she hooked her hand around his at the elbow. They walk inside like a couple and the maids bow to them in respect.
"There they are!". Theo voices out and everyone turns in their direction, Mrs. Williams rushes to welcome them, she is surprised to see Maya, and even Maya is surprised as well, everyone stares confusedly at them.
" You?". Mrs. Williams said surprisedly and the rest came over to them.
"Mom? Is everything okay?" Theo asked surprisedly seeing the awkward look between his mom and Maya.
"Um, yeah, am just so surprised to see her, she is the young lady that recommended this dress to me at the shopping mall yesterday". She explained and she hugged maya to herself and everyone smiled at them.
" Come on everyone let's go to the dining room, the food is getting cold". Mr. Williams said as they left for the dining." Is so good to have you here dear". he added smiling at Maya.
"Thank you, sir, am honored". Maya said shyly.
"You are so beautiful dear". Mrs. Williams said.
" Thank you ma". she said.
"And thanks for picking this outfit for me, everyone loves it". she said.
" She is right, you are damn good at fashion". Theo said.
"Can we eat now, am starving". Ryan said and they laughed at him.
Soon, they began eating and having conversations with each other, Jayden was a little surprised to see how his parents were flowing with Maya like they had known each other before. After dinner, they left for the living room, as they continued chatting and diluting their meals with sweet wine.
" Oh my, this is so funny". Mrs. Williams said as they all laughed enjoying themselves." so, tell me, my dear, What year did you round up from school?". she asked, and all eyes were on Maya as she became nervous.
"Um, I " she sputtered.
"Don't be shy, I want to know more about you". She said.
" Um, am an undergraduate, I stopped school for a while in other to gather enough money to continue my studies". she said and everyone was surprised.
"Really? What about your parents?". She asked curiously.
" Er, "She gulped nervously and Jayden could see how nervous and sad she looked.
" Um, Mom, can we have this discussion next time". Jayden questioned trying to ease everyone's tension.
"Oh, am sorry dear, hope I didn't say anything wrong, I was curious to know the mother of my grandchild". she said firmly
" No, no, no, ma, you didn't, am sorry if I sounded awkward". Maya apologizes and they smile at her.
"Is okay dear, if you are not ready to tell us, maybe next time". Mr. Williams said.
" Yeah, but no one will think you are an undergraduate, you are too intelligent".Ryan praise.
"What were you planning on studying?" Theo asked.
"journalism, I wanna be a writer". She said and everyone gasped in surprise.
" Wow, that's amazing dear". Mrs. Williams said smiling.
"Thank you ma". she said smiling and Jayden stared sweetly at her.
In a dark room, a young man is seated comfortably in a leather chair relaxing with vape and alcohol. The dark room was filled with white atmospheric smoke, and then someone knocked on the door and entered with a bow.
" Boss, here are the files ". he drops it on the table in front of him and walks away. The young man picks up the files and glances through them, he smirks staring at them.
" Time to visit you, my dear friend". he said and laughed evilly.
Jayden and Maya drove back home and the chauffeur opened the door for them, they came down and went inside with everyone bowing to them. Maya stops walking and turns to Jayden.
"um, I just want to say thank you and good night". she said and walked away, Jayden stared after her as she disappeared from his sight.
