Chapter 232 - Chapter 226:Valencia Island ,The Mysterious GS Ball

The blimp ride from Viridian City had been smooth and scenic, but the moment the massive airship began its descent toward Valencia Island, the group felt a wave of excitement wash over them.

The vast blue ocean sparkled beneath them like a living jewel, dotted with small rocky outcrops and the occasional pod of Lapras gliding gracefully through the waves.

The island itself came into view gradually a lush, tropical paradise with dense green forests, golden beaches, and colorful flowers blooming everywhere under the bright afternoon sun.

Ash stood at the railing on the observation deck, wind whipping through his messy black hair. Pikachu perched proudly on his left shoulder, ears twitching at every new sound, while Eevee sat comfortably in his arms, silver fur catching the sunlight. Togepi bounced happily in Misty's hold nearby.

Misty leaned against the railing beside him, red hair dancing in the breeze, a wide grin on her face. "Look at this place! The Orange Islands are even more beautiful than I imagined. I can already smell the ocean and the fruit stalls!"

Sabrina stood on Ash's other side, her hand gently intertwined with his. Her usual calm expression was softened by a quiet smile as she took in the view. "The air feels… different here. Cleaner. Fuller of life."

Daisy stood slightly behind them, still a little shy but clearly thrilled. She clutched the strap of her backpack, eyes sparkling. "I've never been to any of the southern islands before. This is going to be so much fun… especially with all of you."

Giselle trailed a few steps behind the group, still dressed in her black-and-white maid outfit. The short skirt fluttered in the wind, making her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She kept adjusting her frilly apron nervously, muttering under her breath, "This is my life now… serving the Champion who owns legendary birds… on a tropical island…"

Ash glanced back at her with a kind smile. "Relax, Giselle. You're part of the group. No need to stress."

Giselle squeaked, face turning even redder. "Y-Yes, Master…"

The blimp docked smoothly at the Valencia Island port. The group disembarked, stepping onto solid ground that still felt like it was gently rocking from the long ride.

The port was lively vendors selling fresh tropical fruits, colorful souvenirs, and Pokémon-themed snacks. The air smelled of salt, sunscreen, and sweet mangoes.

Ash took a deep breath and smiled. "First stop Professor Ivy's lab. Then we can relax properly."

They made their way through the sunny streets. Valencia Island had a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere. Palm trees swayed gently, colorful flowers bloomed along the paths, and the distant sound of waves crashing on the beach created a soothing background melody. Wild Pokémon mostly Water and Grass types could be seen playing near the shore or resting in the shade.

As they walked, Ash mentally opened his system to check on his newest team member the Fearow he had captured earlier on the way to Viridian City.

[Pokémon: Fearow ♂️]

Level: 50

Potential: Elite

Ability: Keen Eye (prevents accuracy loss)

Hidden Ability: Sniper (critical hits deal increased damage)

Skills: Drill Peck, Aerial Ace, Agility, Fury Attack, Pursuit

Intimacy: 180 (Max 255)

Item Carried: None

Ash nodded to himself with quiet satisfaction. Fearow was already at a respectable level with strong potential. The Sniper Hidden Ability would make his critical hits hit much harder in battles especially with moves like Drill Peck. He could already picture powerful combos in future Gym battles or against stronger wild Pokémon.

"Not bad at all," Ash thought. "You'll become a real powerhouse once we train together, old rival."

Pikachu looked up at him curiously. "Pika?"

Ash scratched behind Pikachu's ears. "Just checking on our new teammate. He's going to fit right in."

They continued walking until they reached Professor Ivy's lab a modern, spacious building situated on a scenic hill overlooking the sparkling sea. Large glass windows offered beautiful views, and a lush garden surrounded the lab where various Pokémon roamed freely and played.

Professor Ivy a tall, elegant woman with long brown hair tied back and a warm, intelligent smile was waiting for them outside the entrance.

"Welcome to Valencia Island!" she greeted them brightly, extending her hand to Ash.

"You must be Ash Ketchum. Professor Oak spoke very highly of you. I'm Professor Ivy."

Ash shook her hand firmly. "It's great to meet you, Professor. These are my companions Misty, Sabrina, Daisy, and Giselle."

Misty waved cheerfully. "Hi!"

Sabrina gave a polite nod. "A pleasure."

Daisy smiled shyly. "Thank you for having us."

Giselle gave a small, awkward curtsy. "I'm… the maid."

Professor Ivy raised an eyebrow at Giselle's outfit but chose not to comment, simply smiling politely. "Come inside. I'll show you around briefly before we get to business."

The lab was impressive clean, well-organized, and filled with advanced equipment. Two cheerful lab assistants waved at them from their workstations. Professor Ivy gave them a quick tour, explaining some of her current research on regional Pokémon variants and migration patterns.

Finally, she led them to a secure display case in her private office. Inside rested the mysterious GS Ball a strange, golden and sliver Poké Ball with a distinctive "GS" marking engraved on its surface. It looked ancient yet pristine.

"This is the GS Ball," Professor Ivy said, her tone turning serious. "It's unlike any Poké Ball I've ever studied. We've tried every standard method to transport it regular teleportation systems, transfer machines, even custom-built converters. Nothing works. The ball simply refuses to be moved through any digital or energy-based system. There's some kind of powerful lock or energy field surrounding it. We've run every test imaginable, but the data keeps coming back… incomplete. It feels like there's a deep mystery tied to this ball perhaps something ancient, or connected to a specific Pokémon, location, or even an event we don't yet understand."

She carefully removed the GS Ball from the case and handed it to Ash.

"Professor Oak trusts you with this. Whatever is inside might be very important… or potentially very dangerous. Please be careful."

Ash took the ball reverently. It felt strangely warm in his palm, almost alive. He stored it safely away using his system inventory.

"Thank you, Professor Ivy. I'll take good care of it and let you know if we discover anything."

After a pleasant conversation and some light refreshments (fresh tropical fruit juice and snacks), Ash and the gang bid farewell to Professor Ivy and her two assistants.

"Thank you again for everything," Ash said with a respectful bow. "We'll keep in touch."

Professor Ivy smiled warmly. "Safe travels, Champion. Enjoy the Orange Islands they're beautiful this time of year. And if you learn anything about the GS Ball, please don't hesitate to contact me."

With their purpose on Valencia Island fulfilled, the group left the lab and headed toward the local ferry dock. Their next destination for the day was Tangelo Island specifically its famous Pokémon Theme Park. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy some fun rides, let the Pokémon have a good time, and unwind after the long blimp ride and league aftermath.

As they walked toward the ferry, Ash turned to the girls with a bright, excited smile.

"Ready for some actual vacation time?"

Misty grinned widely, pumping her fist. "Finally! I've been dying to hit the beach and the theme park. I want to ride everything!"

Sabrina nodded softly, a rare gentle smile on her face. "A day of relaxation sounds wonderful. I could use some time to just… breathe."

Daisy smiled and looked genuinely happy. "I'm looking forward to it… with all of you. It feels like a real group trip now."

Giselle walked behind them, still adjusting her maid skirt awkwardly. "Theme park… as a maid… serving the Champion who owns legendary birds… this is my life now… what sin i did in my past life....."

Ash chuckled lightly and gestured for everyone to pick up the pace.

"Then let's go. Tangelo Island awaits!"

They boarded the small, comfortable ferry to Tangelo Island. The sea breeze was refreshing, the water calm and sparkling. The Orange Archipelago stretched out before them a beautiful chain of islands filled with adventure, mystery, and the promise of new challenges.

Ash leaned against the railing, looking out at the horizon. The GS Ball was safely stored away in his bag, his new Fearow rested quietly in its Poké Ball, and his team both human and Pokémon was by his side.

The real Orange Islands journey had just begun.
