The gentle waves lapped against the shores of Mikan Island as the group finally arrived after their relaxing sea journey.
The water travel with pokemon's had been pleasant, with the sea breeze refreshing and the water sparkling under the afternoon sun.
The sight of the island's lush greenery and colorful buildings brought a fresh wave of excitement to everyone. Ash, Misty, Sabrina, Daisy, Giselle, and their new companion Tracey stepped off the pokemon, stretching their legs after the ride.
After that ash call back both lapras and gyrados for rest and recuparation.
The air was warm and fragrant with tropical flowers and sea salt. Mikan Island had a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere smaller than some of the other Orange Islands, but full of charm with its Pokémon Center, small shops, and training grounds visible in the distance.
Palm trees lined the paths, and the distant sound of waves created a soothing background melody.
Ash smiled as he looked around, taking in the peaceful vibe. "First things first let's head to the Pokémon Center to rest our team and get settled. We've had a long day already."
The group nodded in agreement and made their way through the sunny streets. Tracey walked beside Ash, still buzzing with energy from the ride on Shiny Gyarados. He kept flipping through his sketchbook, occasionally showing quick drawings he had made during the journey.
"That was incredible!" Tracey exclaimed, his voice full of awe. "The way Gyarados and Lapras swam together… it was like watching siblings. I got so many good sketches! The way the sunlight hit Lapras's new crystalline crown was beautiful."
Ash chuckled. "Glad you enjoyed it. Gyarados can be intimidating, but he's got a soft side when he wants to. He was already treating Lapras like a little sister."
Misty walked on Ash's left, arm looped through his, her orange hair swaying with each step. "I can't wait to see what Mikan Island has to offer. The Pokémon Center here should have good facilities. I want to make sure all the pokemon have good rest."
Sabrina walked on Ash's right, her hand gently clasped in his. Her usual calm demeanor was softened by a quiet smile. "It feels peaceful here. A good place to recharge before we continue."
Daisy walked slightly behind them, carrying herself with the confident, caring energy of a onee-san. She kept an eye on everyone, making sure no one lagged behind. "Make sure you all stay hydrated. The sun is strong today. We don't want anyone getting exhausted before we even start exploring."
Giselle trailed a few steps behind, still in her maid outfit, looking slightly out of place but trying to keep up. She adjusted her frilly apron nervously. "I… suppose this is part of my duties now. Following the Master around islands… to islands..."
They reached the Pokémon Center quickly. The building's familiar red roof and bright lights stood out against the tropical greenery. Nurse Joy greeted them with her signature bright smile as they entered.
"Welcome to Mikan Island Pokémon Center! How can I help you today?"
Ash handed over his Poké Balls with a polite smile. "We'd like to rest our Pokémon and use the facilities for a bit. We've had a long journey."
Nurse Joy nodded cheerfully. "Of course! They'll be fully healed in no time. Feel free to use the lounge and the video phones while you wait."
While the Pokémon were being cared for, Ash stepped aside and got to the nearest pokeball teleporter. He selected Fearow's Poké Ball.
"Fearow, return for now," he said softly. "I'll send you to Professor Oak so you can rest and train a bit. We'll call you back when you're needed."
The ball flashed, and Fearow was sent away.
Ash then contacted Professor Oak via the video phone in the Center's lounge. The professor's face appeared on the screen.
"Ash, my boy! How's the Orange Islands treating you?"
"Great, Professor," Ash replied with a smile. "We've settled in. I'm sending you Fearow for a while he needs some rest and training. In return, could you send me my Shiny Kingdra? I think he'll enjoy the sea here."
Professor Oak nodded. "Of course! I'll make the switch right away. Fearow will be well taken care of."
As the trade completed, Tracey's eyes widened in awe when he saw the Shiny Kingdra materialize in a flash of light beside Ash.
"Another Shiny?!" Tracey exclaimed, his pencil already moving across his sketchbook. "You have a Shiny Kingdra too? This is unbelievable! The way the light reflects off those scales… I have to draw this right now!"
Ash laughed softly. "He's been with me for a while. He's strong in the water. I thought he'd enjoy the ocean here."
After that ash leaves handing the converstion with professor oak to tracey who was over the moon started to show his pokemon sketch's like a treasure while professor oak like a seasonal critic started to praise tracey's art and his dedication to his profession as a pokemon watcher while guilding him pro's and con's telling various thing to enlighten tracey.
Giselle stood quietly in the corner, arms crossed. She had watched the entire interaction the easy affection between Ash and the girls, the way they acted like long-lost sisters without any hint of jealousy or conflict. It made her uncomfortable in a way she couldn't quite name. Usually, in the stories she had heard about harems, there was always drama, rivalry, and bitterness. But here… they were happy. Laughing together. Supporting each other.
Her chest felt tight. A sour, stinging feeling she didn't recognize kept bubbling up every time she saw Ash smile at one of them, or when they teased him playfully. She shook her head, trying to push it away.
This is ridiculous, she thought. I'm just his maid. Why does it bother me so much?
Daisy, ever the observant big sister, noticed Giselle's sour expression. She walked over with a gentle, confident smile and placed a hand on the maid's shoulder.
"Hey, Giselle," Daisy said warmly. "You look like you're carrying the weight of the world. Come sit with us. We don't bite."
Giselle blinked, surprised by the kind invitation. She hesitated for a moment, then nodded and sat down with the girls. Daisy's easy, big-sister energy made it hard to refuse.
Misty grinned and nudged her playfully. "Yeah, join the club. We're all in this together now."
Sabrina gave her a soft, knowing smile. "You'll get used to us eventually."
Giselle managed a small, reluctant smile. For the first time, the sour feeling eased just a little.
Meanwhile, Ash sat on a nearby bench with Pikachu and Eevee. He looked at his two most loyal partners with a serious but playful expression.
"Guys, you two are going to train our little buddy Growlithe. Make sure he learns various things from both of you, okay? Teach him how to fight smart, how to stay calm under pressure, and how to have fun while doing it."
Pikachu and Eevee straightened up immediately, giving a perfect "Aye aye, Captain!" salute with their paws.
"Pika-pi!" "Eevee!"
Ash shook his head with a fond laugh. "Alright, alright. If you do a good job, I'll give you both extra ketchup supply and cookie supply for one whole week."
Both Pokémon's eyes lit up. They immediately bowed dramatically Pikachu with sparks flying from his cheeks, Eevee with sparkling eyes and chorused:
"Pika!" "Eevee!"
Ash ruffled their heads affectionately. "That's the spirit."
The group spent the rest of the afternoon resting and planning their next moves. The Orange Islands felt full of promise new challenges, beautiful scenery, and the chance to grow even stronger together.
With Lapras now part of the team and Growlithe leveling up nicely, Ash felt ready for whatever came next.
