Chapter 113 - Chapter 113

"Holy shit!"

Byakuran shouts in awe at the sight before us. I don't blame him for acting like this; I would do the same if I hadn't received the system. Now? I am still in awe, but I can hold it back.

In front of us lies a mountain of gold, silver, and all kinds of gems. Not only that, but I can also see stacks of paperwork. I take one and see that it is a land deed. Looking at the stack again, I realize they are deeds from the Fuchen Clan.

I pick up one of the scrolls on the table and blink in surprise. It's a secret technique that allows the Fuchen Clan to manipulate natural energy to create poison and camouflage mists.

I also examine a stack of books, which turn out to be the bank accounts of people from the Fuchen Clan. I frown as I pick a random book; it's not the account of someone wealthy, but rather of a low- to mid-class household.

"Yasaka."

"Hmmm? What is it, Vale?"

"Can you make sure to help the lower-class Youkai? At least offer them jobs or something. I am even willing to hire them in Vindicare, and their compensation will include temporary housing until they can afford to rent for themselves."

She looks at me for a few seconds before smiling.

"You are too kind, Vale. If it were me, I would let them suffer and only help them once they were kneeling in front of me, begging for their lives."

Really? Is that considered kind? I guess it is. I don't have an obligation to help them, but I don't want innocent people to suffer because of one person's decisions. At the same time, I don't want others to think I am such a pushover that I'll help regardless of the circumstances.

So, I decided to do this instead.

"They are innocent. I don't want them to suffer for the folly of one person. However, make sure any direct family of that elderly bastard doesn't get that chance."

"Oh, I won't. They deserve what is coming to them, and they are too prideful to ask for our help anyway. I hear those bastards are asking for sanctuary in Korea. It looks like some elder Youkai there owed that bastard a lot in the past and decided to take him and his family in."

"Really? Do you want me to send someone to monitor them? That bastard is too slippery for his own good."

"I already have people monitoring them, but having more eyes in Korea would be good. Humans are better at monitoring others there."

"Then I will ask my people to establish a network in Korea."

I look over at the mountain of gold where Byakuran just hurt himself by jumping into it, mistakenly thinking it would act like liquid as it does in cartoons and anime.

"How much gold is here?"

"There are five hundred tons of gold, with a dozen or so tons of jewels on the side."

"What about the businesses? I saw some documents regarding them."

"All the businesses are small: Ryokans, restaurants, and general shops."

"Good. I want to give them back their businesses."

"Hmmm~ I can do that. However, may I handle the transition? I will ensure they stay loyal to us while returning their family businesses."

"I don't mind. I just don't want innocent people to get hurt because of this."

She smiles and kisses my cheek.

"Don't worry, Vale. I will make sure they do not suffer."

"Thank you, Yasaka. Anyway, what should we do with all this gold? We already have too much of it back home."

We have so much gold that we had to create a massive vault just to store it. We have more than twelve thousand tons in the vault, and it keeps growing because there is still one more dead world to harvest.

And that is a fresh world as well. That means thousands more tons of gold will arrive.

"Wait, you do?"

"Yes. We have more than twelve thousand tons of gold."

"What? That much? How? You own more gold than the majority of factions in the world. You should be one of the top five gold owners globally."

"I will tell you about it later. It involves the secret I mentioned."

"Then I am looking forward to it. Anyway, besides smaller businesses and gold, there are also shares in multiple companies worldwide. Most are Japan-based, but there are some international ones."

"Which one is the most profitable?"

"Pharmaceuticals."

"As expected."

Pharmaceutical companies always make money, no matter how big other industries become. They are either the most profitable or at least in the top ten. It's always one of the two.

Holding a large share in a pharmaceutical company alone is enough to make one wealthy.

"Other than pharmaceuticals, there are shares in all kinds of companies globally. I sent people to check their value, and it totals twenty-two billion USD."

"Really? We will talk about those later. I want to know which stocks we should sell and which ones we should hold."

We are at the end of the 90s. In two years, it will be 2000. There are many opportunities and risks in the market soon. In fact, I have a special department that monitors these things.

"That is true. Beyond that, we also receive a lot of land that we can utilize. Don't worry; I will make sure the people who deserve help receive it and remove those who think they are entitled to it."

"That is good. I will send some Uzumakis ahead to scout the area. I hear they want to expand and recreate their original village. Romania is great, but they prefer something closer to their traditions."

"And Japan is close enough to those traditions. Where did you get these people, anyway?"

"That is also a secret."

"Fine, fine."

We continue to check the loot and divide it into three categories. The first is currency: gold, jewels, and any valuable metals. Most of the metal is mundane, with only a few pieces having magical properties, though those fall into the second category.

The second category is magical. This is where we store magic-related items such as magical metals, scrolls, and devices. There are a lot of them here—even more than the currency. It seems the Fuchen Clan were hoarders.

The last category is business. This is where we store business-related items, including stocks, bonds, and documents. We will give these to the financial teams to decide which should be personally controlled and which can be delegated.

When we finish cataloging the loot, we store it and prepare to leave. Byakuran and the others decide to stay in Japan for a few days before returning to Romania and then home. We leave them to it, and I take Yasaka back to Romania alongside my Guardians, who return to their usual duties.

I take Yasaka through the intensive security checks and arrive at the teleportation facility. When we arrive, she looks at the five white cocoons in front of her in confusion and shock.

"Why does one of your portals release such massive Primal Natural Energy? Is that where you train?"

"That's right. That is one of the reasons I brought you here. Come on. I will show you around and explain more."
