Chapter 36 - Disappearance? No this is Murder!

We finally make it to the office. Mayor Zero sits down in a chair. "Why don't you guys sit? Stay a while." The soldiers start taking off there armor, Red had already sat down and when I didn't follow him he looked at me. "What wrong Grey? Actually now that I look at you what isn't wrong with you? You have a huge scar on your hand, when did you get that? And what's with your hair? It actually looks good for once?" Surprised by his comments I look at him and ask "Well what's wrong with you? Your hair is way longer and you look like you haven't slept in years." The soldiers had finished taking off their armor and sat down, I thought to myself how dumb do I look right now being the only one who hasn't sat down yet. I sit down next to Red when Mayor Zero pass out Tea. "Have a sip it's made from the beautiful flowers that grow here." Everyone takes a sip but Red, he looks at the drink carefully before taking a sip. "Why are you so on edge Red?" I ask, he looks at me and smiles, this was the first time I have ever seen him smile. "Well you can't just trust people you met even if they seem trustworthy." He then turns his gaze to Zero "This tea is great Zero." Zero smiles and then he sets down his cup. "Ready to begin the meeting?" All the soldiers have already finished the tea and look as though they have been waiting. "Yes Sir, we are ready." One of the men say, he then looks at us and says "Sorry I forgot to introduce myself, I am Commander Dray of Border town. I am here to protect the last villager of Roseville. Well not villager but the Mayor." Red looks at him and nods "It's nice to meet you Dray." Dray then replies back "It's nice to meet you too Red. Oh and it's nice to meet you Grey." I look at him and smile. When the room is silent Zero starts talking. "Here is the situation, we had reported to the ARC HQ about there being potentially 3 Nemesis here and they told us that they would send someone to us to check it out. 2 days later and a man enters the town and meets with me, I tell him about where the Robots are and after I finish telling him everything he goes and scouts out the areas with the robots. He comes back to me later that day and confirms that all three of them are indeed Nemesis and that he will go back to HQ to report the situation. We then get told that Red Gifire is coming to kill the Nemesis. I was relieved knowing that someone would finally ease the minds of the citizens. Then about 2 days later you come to the village and go straight to the locations of the robots. When I come to check on your progress I realized you weren't at any of the locations. Then a soldier comes to me and tells me that Red had not seen any Nemesis and that there was nothing to worry about. After a few days the citizens were finally happy again, until that night a man was found dead on the ground in teh street. People started panicking and I was awoken to look at the body. The man was a flower seller, he would usually sell flowers to the locals or people who traveled through the town. We bring the dead body to the hospital to get it out of the sight of the people, my men start investigating what happened to the man while the doctors find out how he died. 2 hours later and the doctors tell me the cause of death was poison, but the strange part was that the poison couldn't be identified, I go to meet my men and tell them the cause of death, and they provide me with information as well. They told me that the man had sold some flowers to a person who looked shady, the shady man had made him very paranoid of things. Apparently he would start talking to his flowers or would yell at people that were wearing black. So they thought the cause of death was sucide. I go to my office to write down everything we knew about his death and write letters to his family to let them know he died. I ended up falling asleep while doing that. I woke up to a loud noise coming from outside. I ran outside to check out what made that noise. When I opened the door a man who I had never seen was holding a woman in his hands, he had killed her. I looked at the man in horror. He looked at me and ran away. He ran all the way to a hidden door in the ground I had never seen and closed it. In a panic I try to open the metal door with my bare hands to stop the man from getting away. But I realized that what I was doing was stupid, so I stopped and sat on a nearby rock while looking at the spot. I waited a while and when I saw no signs of the man returning I finally get up to call the neighboring town about the situation. I then look around all the town and realize everyone is dead. But nothing was stolen or damaged. And I would return to the rock every day from sunrise to sunset. And after 3 weeks I see you two come out of the underground door. The soldiers would come every day at sunset to take my place on the rock. But it just so happened that you two came up at the perfect time where the soldiers and me were there. But that's all the information I have." Red is thinking and all the soldiers besides Dray are asleep. "This is strange… very strange. Well here is what I can tell you Zero. On my way here from HQ I was ambushed by a bunch of people who put me to sleep. I then woke up in a cell, I was in there for quite some time until today. So that means whoever you met wasn't me." Red says after scratching his head. He whispers "I really need a haircut." While he takes a sip of tea. "You are indeed right I don't think who I met was you, but that means it was someone else. Does that mean the Nemesis are still here?" Red looks at him and with a serious tone "Yes they should be. When you went to the locations of the Nemesis did you ever see any oil?" Zero shakes his head no. "Well then they definitely are alive or they got killed in a different location. Could you give us a map of this place and the locations of the Nemesis?" Zero pulls out a map and sets it on the table. "Yes but I can't give you one, I don't have any mini maps that I can give you. So I will leave the map here so that when you guys come here you will know where to go." I look at Zero in confusion "We aren't going to look for them today?" Zero looks at me and says "Grey do you know how dark it gets in Roseville when the clouds block the moon? The whole town becomes pitch black. I wouldn't recommend going to hunt them now. I think you and Red need some rest, so how about sleeping here? It's safe here and you can have an easy start tomorrow." I was about to decline when Red talks. "Yes we will rest, thank you Zero." He nods and gets up. "Follow me I will bring you to some rooms, and Dray you know where you can sleep." Dray nods "If you guys need anymore information just knock on my office. I'm usually in there and I always fall asleep working there too." He then points to a room. "This is my room but I never sleep in it so you guys can use it to sleep." We walk in and I run towards the bed. I jump on it until Red gets mad at me. "You are acting like a child. Move so I can get some room." I move a little and Red settles in. I decide to close my eyes for a little and then get up to train. But while I was thinking that I ended up falling asleep.
