Later that night, as the moon shone bright in the sky, Yuka was handed the keys to the kingdom. The very kingdom that Izanami had stripped her and many others of peace.
It was quite the irony, really.
For the woman who had made it her mission to bring down the Watanabes, to be the one who was trusted with that same kingdom by a Watanabe.
A kingdom so dangerous yet one that screamed home on most days.
Perhaps it was what the fates had willed. Or perhaps it was just the turn of events triggered by Liu Kuangxin.
"Come back to me, Kiki. I can't lose another person in a war again," Yuka had whispered softly into the night as the last of the Doiwa army left the palace.
In her arms were pieces of the armor that Tsuki had prepared specifically for Kiyomi. Armor that Kiyomi had decided she wouldn't need because, apparently, she had missed the scent of home, and Yuka had given her just that.
