The congee was freshly boiled, incredibly fragrant, all personally cooked by the head chef.
"Come closer." Lu Yin called her over.
"Oh." Not watching what she was doing, Lin Qinqin leaned in too close, her hand bumping into the one he was holding the spoon with.
The spoon brimming with congee was knocked without warning, and the scalding congee splashed out.
The plump, crystal-clear grains of rice scattered across the back of Lin Qinqin's hand.
She jerked her hand back at once and cried out in pain.
"Ah…"
Lu Yin immediately set down the bowl and spoon, grabbed her hand as she tried to pull away, "How is it? Burned?"
Taking the bowl from her hand, Lu Yin glanced down; red marks had already appeared on her fair skin.
His expression darkened slightly. Clutching her wrist, he led her straight to the bathroom.
Whoosh.
He turned on the faucet, and water gushed out with a roar.
Her hand, caught in his grip, was brought under the stream, letting the icy water rinse over it.
