1. Philosophical Depth
Augustine: In Confessions, Augustine struggles to define time. Past is memory, future is expectation, and only the present exists — yet the present itself is fleeting. Time reveals the fragility of human perception.
Heraclitus: "You cannot step into the same river twice." Time is flux, becoming, ceaseless change. To live is to flow with this current, never still.
Parmenides: The opposite — time is illusion. Reality is eternal Being, unmoving, and time is merely appearance. Thus transcendence is awakening from the illusion of change.
