Chapter 66 - CHAPTER SIXTY: BLOOD RUNS NOT COLD BUT HOT.

CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW.

Spasms of utter panic run down my spine.

I want to yell out but for some reason, it's almost as if;

-My throat is being clutched tightly-

He inches closer to me,a maniacal grin spread out on his face.

-Nearer, nearer-

I shut my eyes;

-There's no way of escape for me, it seems this is the end of my line-

I bite my lower lip as I feel the cold steel against my skin;

-He's taking his sweet time-

A surge of anguish works it's way within me and the surpressed scream erupts from my mouth.

He gasps and moves back, his eyes studying me conscientiously.

"Well..." He begins with a nervous chuckle;

"You're glowing"

I strain my neck and indeed my body is lighted up, but what good does that do for me in terms of offence, and getting me out of here?

He cautiously stretches a finger and pokes at my arm, then a sick smile spreads across his hollow face;

"It would seem like your ability has zero defence capacity..." He mumbles thoughtfully as he moves closer.

I grit my teeth and he guffaws;

"Literally you can only use that Ability to help others, it can't really do anything for your sake"

He suddenly plunges the tool he's holding into my neck, I shriek as blood spills out;

"I somewhat pity you... it's like you've only been born to be exploited and used... just like one of my wonderful puppets"

He rips out the thing from my neck and I feel my energy draining out steadily and the light around me dimming.

-Then, in a split minute...I feel a warmness around the injury I sustained, it envelopes the wound and the pain dissappears-

He watches wide-eyed;

"This gives me a genius idea!... just imagine I use some parts of your body to make my puppets... they'll literally be indestructible!"

I nearly gag in disgust;

"NO!!!!" I yell as he inches closer.

"Well... let's see how much I can wring you out..."

-THUMP!, THUMP!, THUMP!-

Just as he's about to slash my fingers off, a steady knocking interrupts his rendezvous.

He snarls in irritation as the knocks become urgent and increasingly loud, then he takes a deep breath while stripping his gloves off.

He walks out of the room in annoyance.

Once I've confirmed he's out, I look around me frantically searching for a means of escape.

Nothing is within my reach to work with and this stupid Ability of mine does nothing but glow.

A sound from above me interrupts my state of delirium.

I struggle to look up and I am alarmed as I watch a part of the ceiling gingerly being pushed through.

A small gasp escapes my mouth as I watch a hand emerge from the hole in the ceiling, suddenly someone drops down;

-Yal?-

CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW END.

NETYISHA'S POINT OF VIEW.

I reach out and pound on the door a couple of times.

-Receiving no answer, I assume Mr. Hood is not around-

Just as I'm about to leave his premises, I catch sight of him dragging the body of someone who appears dead.

"Oh Rev Netyisha!" He calls out excitedly;

"You came to visit?"

I am curious about the body, but on closer inspection I observe that the person is still breathing.

Mr Hood beckons to me and I follow him into the room.

-The room is dark and has a damp feel despite it's rather cedarwood fragrant air-

He snaps his fingers and immediately the curtains pull open, the candles set around the room are also lighted up;

"To what do I owe this visit?" He questions as he takes a seat by his reading table leaving the half dead body sprawled out on the floor.

I sigh heavily as I land on the seat before him without being invited to;

"I want to know more about Dieties..."

He regards me wordlessly for some minutes then he sniggers;

"Why the sudden investment Netyisha?"

I feel his eyes piercing into me, eventhough I cannot see them;

"Personal reasons" I settle for.

He nods;

"There's nothing more to know about Dieties than what the System has told you, if you seek knowledge for mere personal reasons" he pronounces with a flourish;

-He seems to enjoy pushing me to a corner, I should have known that he would be curious about my purpose for asking such a question-

"What do you know about the 'WE SHALL SURVIVE' group?" I stylishly evade;

He leans back into his chair;

"I've heard of them as a bunch of underground troublemakers who are by the way gaining more ground I'm recent times" he pauses thoughtfully;

"You must be asking because of that girl Tomato right?"

-Even Mr Hood knows this Tomato?-

"Her Ability is a very unique one and it's uncategorised... people who have managed to survive her attacks never really knew what hit them and they were always left incarcerated...it is said that her power is more than enough to obliterate a Chaos beast...that is why she is equivalent to a Diety..." He pauses and chuckles;

"You'll only ever stand a chance of beating her if you succumb"

-Ow? , Did he really have to say it so brutally?-

I look down in a shame that I'm unused to;

-Never have I had the reason to feel my ability is inferior in any way, but now even Mr Hood is looking down on me in comparison to this person-

"If I have wind of her abilities then I'll know what to expect right?"

He shrugs;

"I suppose it would be best to know what to expect without revealing your own strength"

My ears perk up;

"What do you mean?"

"The chance you stand is to somewhat find out what her ability entails without showing yours so she'll not know what to expect from you...it might take many attempts to figure out her Ability but it isn't entirely impossible" he opens up a book and begins to read, I let out a deep sigh;

"Not allowing her see my ability... that's almost impossible since I'm going on a mission that involves combat, I can't just stand around observi...-" "-well I never said it would be simple" he interrupts me gently;

"The moment you find out about her ability in a fight is the moment you die... that's the strategy with those who possess Uncategorised Abilities, they're dangerous because nobody can predict the range or capacity of their abilities...unlike normal Essence users, and they usually like to keep it that way..."

-SILENCE-

There's nothing else left to say, Mr Hood is correct as usual;

-A certain curiosity creeps up on me-

"Hey Mr Hood, not to be rude or anything but if you were to face her off in battle...who would win?"

He chuckles gaily;

"Is that even a question?"

I'm still pondering on his rather ambiguous response, even as I walk back to my chambers,

And so caught I am in my thoughts that I bump into someone;

"Oh Rev Netyisha thank goodness you're here...hurry and follow me, Mage Nox is about to kill your students" he mutters breathlessly.

-Kill my students?-

My blood runs not cold but hot;

NETYISHA'S POINT OF VIEW END.

CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW.

Taki out of guilt that she supposedly caused my death was summoned by Rev Netyisha earlier who assured her I was alive and still in Mage Nox's custody.

Taki had then convinced Sesugh and Yal to sneak into Mage Nox's chambers in order to check for themselves if I was truly alive.

They had come just in time to listen to all the horrible things Nox had planned to do with me.

Originally the plan was for Taki and Sesugh to call Mage Nox out and distract him while Yal snuck me out of his premises.

But they hadn't considered the fact that Mage Nox had control over monstrous mutant creatures who brutally attack any intruders.

A scuffle broke out and Yal ran away.

Presently, we're barely holding up against Nox and his puppets.

"Just some damage to your hippocampus and medial temporal lobes and all of this can be forgotten...I don't want to have to harm such lovely, passionate students" Mage Nox coos with a despicable smirk as his mutant creatures roughen up Taki and Sesugh;

On closer inspection, the blob composition of these mutant creatures comprise of multiple animal parts.

"You're disgusting, a monster and a piece of trash!" Taki yells energetically and she's responded with a vicious smack across her cheek;

"Now now, you don't disrespect your teachers my dear... isn't that common knowledge?" Mage Nox verbalises as his creature successfully pins Taki to the wall beside Sesugh.

"Now, now nobody move, all I'm doing is damaging your brains a bit in order to induce amnesia, so you don't have to stay with such painful memories" he pauses as he puts on a new set of gloves;

"I must say, for you to have held off against my dolls for so long is rather impress-" "-so they were called dolls after all"

A familiar voice, which currently sounds akin to an angel's interrupts him, and all attention turns to the door;

-Rev Netyisha-

CAMADA'S POINT OF VIEW END.
