Chapter 34 - Chapter-34

{Coruscant / 24 BBY / Jedi Temple}

Lately, the Jedi Temple had gone from being a place of peace and meditation—where children and adults roamed its vast corridors on their way to classes, the library, the dining hall, or any other area where their presence was required—to a mere shadow of what it once was. With each passing day, a greater darkness loomed over the Order, and no one felt this more keenly than Grand Master Yoda. While meditating, he sensed an ever-growing pressure upon himself until, at one point, the shadow completely engulfed him—and with him, the entire galaxy.

'A dangerous path the Order walks. The worst of choices we must avoid. Hmm, yes… order and caution we must show. One misstep, and fall the Order will'

After reflecting on his vision, the Jedi Master made his way toward the Grand Library, hoping to reach the garden where Younglings sometimes trained in dueling under Master Cin Drallig's supervision. Along the way, Yoda encountered many of his former students—now Jedi Knights or members of the auxiliary corps.

Finally, he arrived before the great tree, where another figure was also standing, gazing at it as though it were the greatest mystery in the galaxy.

"Master Plo, good it is to see you," said Yoda.

The Kel Dor Master turned and recognized the presence of the Grand Master, bowing respectfully.

"Master Yoda, it is an honor to see you again after so long."

Indeed, it had been a long time. Like many others, Master Plo had been extremely busy, deployed across countless sectors of the galaxy to assist in crises, mediate conflicts, and, in some cases, fight slavers and pirates alongside the Judicial Forces. He had been among the most frequently dispatched Jedi, along with Coleman Trebor, Saesee Tiin, and Depa Billaba.

"Hmm… turbulent times these are. With care we must navigate them, or in the dark side of the Force we shall all dwell."

"Wise words, Master. There is something I wished to speak with you about, if possible."

"Time for the Order I always have. Tell me, what clouds your thoughts?"

At the question, Master Plo took a thoughtful stance, hand to his chin.

"The truth is, Master Yoda, that during one of my missions in the Outer Rim, I came across members of the Grim Covenant, who now call themselves the Gaian League. During that mission, both sides were forced to cooperate to resolve a pirate threat in the sector.At first, relations were tense—understandably so, given the history between them and the Order—but after reaching common ground, the situation was resolved quickly. I also discovered that the growing pirate presence in that area was largely due to them, since many of their convoys passed through the region."

He paused briefly, then continued, watching Yoda closely."They are certainly not as bad as the Senate portrays them, but what worries me deeply is their vast arsenal—and how effectively they wield it. It is clear they are professional soldiers, and I have never seen weapons like theirs."

"Hmm, true it is. To see slugthrowers these days, strange it is."

"Yes… but their designs are most curious. They have multiple categories, though I only got a close look at a few. I'll send a full report later, but I sincerely hope no hasty decision is made regarding them."

{The Chancellor's Office – Galactic Senate Building}

Supreme Chancellor Shev Palpatine's office maintained its usual calm—but beneath that calm, a storm of thought and scheming brewed daily, as he continued steering his long-laid plan, once his master's and now his own.

Soon, the plan would unfold. After years of political maneuvering and shadow operations, the time was near. He would finally ascend to Emperor, bringing freedom, justice, and security to his new Empire.

But only if everything went according to plan.His new apprentice, Darth Tyranus, would serve as the face of the Separatist movement—already gaining support among major corporations and Outer Rim worlds—while he himself would do everything possible to "protect" the Republic from that very same movement.

Of course, he would never allow Tyranus to betray him as he had once betrayed his own master. They would never tell the Tragedy of Darth Sidious the Wise. They would only speak of the Emperor. Even if he had to wait for his moment.

POV:

With each passing day, the Shiritoku Way region—and the worlds adjacent to Bespin—continued to send representatives to propose new agreements, both commercial and security-related. According to reports, there had even been occasions when we cooperated with a Jedi to deal with pirates within our sphere of influence. On the surface, this was seen as neutral—two forces working together against a common enemy.

However, High Command has decreed that anyone who has seen a Jedi in combat must report everything in full detail, without omission, under penalty of expulsion and imprisonment. The reason is obvious: today they are allies—but in the future, they may be enemies.

To the galaxy, we are nothing more than a heavily armed band of pirates. We belong neither to the Republic nor to any official faction. We act solely in our own interest, regardless of who stands in our way.

And now, more than ever, the galaxy's underworld has begun to feel our presence. Black Sun loses power by the day—their bases destroyed, shipments intercepted, and high-ranking members scattered across the stars to avoid execution. Their leverage and blackmail material have been neutralized or confiscated, depending on their strategic value.

Naturally, this hasn't pleased the other cartels—such as the Pyke Syndicate or the Hutts. With the Pykes, we've adopted a heavy-handed approach similar to that used on Black Sun should they interfere too much. As for the Hutts, an "understanding" has been reached: we don't interfere in their territory, and they don't interfere in ours.

Tatooine has become a "gray world"—a planet where both sides operate freely, so long as neither undermines the other's authority.

Regarding the growing Separatist movement, there have been no direct confrontations so far, but we've noticed that many of our rivals across the galaxy have begun deploying B1 and OOM droids for security and command purposes. Of course, in areas where we cannot intervene directly, our agents and supplies arrive discreetly—and at a discount.

For now, our focus must remain on military development, while we continue to secure our resources and internal stability—through both lawful and less-than-legal means.

For a prosperous future. End of transmission.
