Chapter 77 - Young Avengers, Assemble!

The war room beneath the Stark Compound hummed with quiet energy.

Holograms flickered to life—blueprints of Wakandan terrain, seismic readings, and a crimson dot pulsing along the African coastline. The tension in the air was electric.

A glass panel slid open with a soft hiss, revealing the newest generation of heroes.

Anna stepped out first—shoulders squared, golden eyes scanning the room like searchlights.

She was young—Nineteen—but her presence hit like a hammer wrapped in velvet. She wore a fitted combat suit reinforced for her strength, her cloak trailing behind her like a flag in slow motion.

With her Kryptonian-like powers, Anna carried herself with quiet certainty—aware she could fly through a tank, yet trying her best not to crush the door handles.

Behind her, Pietro Maximoff—this world's teenage Quicksilver—zipped to a halt mid-yawn, rubbing the back of his silver-streaked head. "Man, this better not be a lecture. I could've gone for a jog around the planet."

X-23 entered next. Laura Kinney's silence spoke volumes.

Her expression was unreadable as ever, but her eyes darted to exits, weapons racks, pressure points in the room. She didn't trust easily. Not anymore.

David Alleyne—Prodigy—adjusted his tech-brimmed goggles, already scanning the floating files in real time.

His power to instantly learn and retain any skill or knowledge meant he'd already absorbed more mission data than most would in weeks. Still, he stayed humble. Calculating. Focused.

Cecilia Reyes and Hazmat—Jennifer Takeda—followed, deep in hushed conversation.

Reyes looked up with her usual calm, her medical scanner already pinging local vitals, while Hazmat kept her distance, arms crossed, suit hissing slightly.

Jennifer didn't do close and cozy—not since she learned her touch could corrode steel.

The ceiling above them cracked with the sudden thwip! of webs.

Peter Parker landed lightly in the center of the room, red and blue suit slightly scuffed.

"Sorry, sorry—I was halfway through stopping a carjacking when the alert went off. Did I miss the pizza?"

Miles Morales swung in right behind him, flipping midair before landing with practiced ease. "You're lucky I saved you a slice."

Riri Williams—Ironheart—descended from the ceiling on silent repulsors, helmet folding back to reveal her sharp gaze.

Kamala Khan followed, practically vibrating with excitement.

"Okay! First real briefing! Official Avengers stuff!" Kamala whispered, grinning at everyone.

Captain America—Steve Rogers—stood waiting at the end of the room.

The sight of him silenced even Pietro. His presence wasn't loud, but it was commanding.

"This," Steve began, voice even and firm, "isn't just a mission briefing. It's the beginning of something new."

The lights dimmed. A holographic table emerged in the center of the room, displaying a rotating globe marked with red zones—crisis points.

"You're here because the world needs more than symbols. It needs action. Strategy. Unity," Steve said. "Tony believed in bridging the gaps… between generations, between legacies, between bloodlines—mutant, human, or otherwise."

"You're the best of the next generation," he said. "Tony believed you didn't need to wait to be ready. You are ready. And you need each other."

Another panel lit up behind him.
