Chapter 83 - I'm Sure You All Missed Me...

Two days later...

The sun hung low in the sky over Wakanda, casting a warm, golden hue across the vibranium-rich landscape.

The city, once again safe, now buzzed with a subdued energy, as if the earth itself was taking a deep breath after the storm.

In the heart of the bustling city, high within the grand palace, Queen Ramonda stood, her regal silhouette framed by the wide balcony doors, surveying the calm after the battle. Her heart was heavy, not just with the weight of leadership, but with a newfound sense of pride for the heroes who had helped avert disaster.

Her gaze turned toward Namor, the brooding King of Atlantis, who stood nearby, arms crossed over his broad chest.

His expression was unreadable, but Ramonda could sense the respect in his eyes—respect not just for Wakanda, but for the young warriors who had risen to the challenge.

"They've done something no one expected," Namor said, breaking the silence with his deep, gravelly voice. "The Young Avengers huh? A force to be reckoned with."

Ramonda nodded, her thoughts momentarily drifting to the young heroes who had helped save both their nations. "Indeed. They remind me of the old warriors of Wakanda. Brave, resourceful, and… filled with potential."

Namor let out a low chuckle. "Potential is a dangerous thing if not guided properly."

"I agree," she replied, her gaze returning to the horizon. "But they have the Avengers to teach them.."

Namor's lips twitched slightly, as if the thought amused him. "Let's hope they learn quickly. The world isn't getting any safer."

Inside the palace, Shuri stood near a table, hands busy with the intricate designs of her latest project.

The young genius had a rare moment of calm, her mind not focused on technology but on the significance of the moment. The comm crystals she had designed for Peter Parker and David Alleyne gleamed softly under the dim light. They weren't just tools—they were symbols of trust, of alliances forged through fire.

"Here," she said, handing the two crystals to Peter and David, who stood nearby, their conversation quiet but meaningful. "These are designed to communicate with our systems, but more importantly, they'll be a reminder. A reminder that you both fought beside Wakanda."

Peter's fingers brushed the smooth surface of the crystal, the weight of it settling in his palm. "I don't know what to say... thank you, Shuri."

Shuri tilted her head, her usual confidence softened by the solemnity of the moment. "There is nothing to say. You earned them."

David nodded, holding his crystal with a gleam in his eyes. "this is a marvelous work!" He exclaimed.

The others looked at him from the corner of their eyes.

'Nerdy' they all thought.

The young heroes had accomplished something remarkable, but their work was far from over. A new chapter had begun, and with it, new responsibilities.

"Time to go," Peter commanded.

---

Back in New York, the Young Avengers had returned to base, their mission successful but the cost still fresh in their minds.

The New York skyline stretched out before them as they entered the command center, greeted by the familiar faces of the Avengers.

Captain America was there first, his iconic shield resting against a nearby wall. His eyes, sharp and focused, flicked over the young heroes, taking in the exhaustion in their movements, the pride in their eyes.

"You did good," Steve Rogers said, his voice steady and reassuring. "We knew you'd rise to the occasion."

Peter shifted uncomfortably, always a little awkward when praised. "Yeah, well, we couldn't have done it without the help of Wakanda... and Namor, I guess."

Steve smiled faintly, but there was no hiding the pride in his eyes. "It's about more than just the help. You worked together, found a way through. That's what makes you Avengers now."

David stepped forward, ever the tactician, his mind already shifting gears. "There's still a lot we need to figure out. Wakanda was just one piece of the puzzle. There's a bigger storm already waiting." His eyes narrowed. "Apocalypse."

The room fell silent at the mention of the ancient mutant's name. The Avengers, all too familiar with the history of threats like him, exchanged grim looks.

"The X-Men and the Brotherhood are already en route to Cairo," Captain America said, his jaw tight. "We'll have to support them from here. We need to prepare for whatever's coming next."

The door to the command center opened, and Sam Wilson, entered, his wings folded against his back. "I got a call from Natasha. The X-Men are going to try and stall Apocalypse and maybe try to stop him."

Steve nodded. "Keep the lines open. If they need backup, we'll be ready."

Just then, the screen flickered to life. A familiar face appeared, surrounded by the holographic glow of a communication device. It was Tony Stark, his unmistakable cocky grin lighting up the room.

"I'm sure you all missed me," Tony's voice echoed, the usual playfulness tinged with a more serious undertone.
