Chapter 129 - Grace of Death

While weighing the possibilities of Cosmic Era cycles, Seraphine realized there were significant holes, or rather, flaws, in the narrative.

"If we're talking about millions or billions of cycles, then sure, the odds might eventually spit out two unconnected eras with identical physical parameters, constants, and the speed of light. It's plausible that the Milky Way, the Orion Arm, the Solar System, and even Earth would evolve exactly the same way.

It's like finding your phone number or bank PIN buried somewhere in the infinite digits of Pi. If the Cosmic Era repeats enough, practically an infinite number of times, shee r brute force probability dictates that the arrangement of matter, information, and energy in any two given eras will eventually mirror each other.

But here's the kicker: we're talking about two consecutive eras both manifesting the Milky Way, the Solar System, the Earth, and even the human race. That's not just a coincidence; that's an astronomical anomaly.

It's so unlikely it feels staged, like some invisible hand is pulling the strings.

Besides, M-theory is still just a theory. It could be partially right, or it could be total garbage. And this universe clearly doesn't meet the criteria for the [Poincaré Recurrence Theorem] because it isn't an isolated system.

The existence of the Realm of Phantasm and the tributaries of the Creeping Sea proves that parallel universes aren't locked away in bubbles. They interact. So, all of this... hmm, it's really just a hypothesis."

Floating in the misty void, Seraphine sat cross-legged, lost in thought. "Even if this theory scratches the surface of the truth, it's full of logical gaps. The odds of it being 100% accurate are... microscopic."

Shaking off the mental tangents to refocus, Seraphine went back to scrolling through the massive information archives left by the God of Hunger race.

According to the records, eons ago, the Cathay led Earth Alliance blew their entire budget and then some trying to fix the ecological and genetic catastrophes caused by the sun's abnormal aging.

Despite the elite minds assembled to tackle the crisis, every proposed solution seemed doomed from the start.

The core issue was simple: the Sun's core hydrogen was exhausted. Regardless of why it happened so prematurely, the Sun had no way to replenish itself, leaving it destined to swell and age.

The reason the abundant hydrogen in the Sun's outer layers couldn't reach the core lies in its classification as a yellow dwarf. Unlike red dwarfs, the longest-lived stars in the universe, yellow dwarfs have a fundamentally different internal structure.

In a yellow dwarf, once the core hydrogen is spent, there is no self-replenishment mechanism. It eventually swells into a Red Giant, and once the helium is gone, leaving only carbon, nuclear fusion stops entirely. Without the outward pressure from fusion to counteract gravity, the structure collapses, ultimately shrinking into a White Dwarf.

Red dwarfs operate differently.

They possess a phenomenon called plasma convection. As hydrogen in the core is used up, this violent convection currents cycle hydrogen from the outer layers back into the core.

Essentially, a red dwarf can utilize its entire mass of hydrogen as fuel, allowing it to stay "young" and active for trillions of years. Yellow dwarfs, however, lack this capability. They are restricted to the limited hydrogen supply within their core, once it's gone, the fire goes out.

Theoretically, for the Earth Civilization Alliance to save itself, they had to find a way to replenish the Sun's "fuel" or jumpstart its core back to youth.

The most viable method would be to artificially "stir" the Sun's interior.

By inducing a plasma convection effect similar to that of a red dwarf, they could force the hydrogen-rich outer layers into the core to fuel continued fusion.

Once the core received this fresh fuel, the Sun's aging would slow, and it would cease emitting the abnormal magnetic fields and radiation plaguing humanity on old Earth.

As for the specific method to stir the solar interior, using physical probes is nonsense, and even nuclear weapons are completely impractical; no matter the megatonnage, they would be utterly insignificant against such a scale.

The solar interior is already a site of continuous, cataclysmic nuclear explosions.

Even turning the entire Earth into a nuclear warhead and detonating it inside the Sun would be useless, the difference in scale is simply too vast. Consequently, while this "stirring" method was theoretically sound, it was practically a pipe dream.

Seraphine's records showed that just as the Earth Alliance hit rock bottom, an impossible event occurred.

On a sweltering night in the previous era, humanity watched in horror as every star visible to the naked eye began to move in unison. Before the eyes of billions, the celestial bodies that had remained fixed for eons suddenly came alive.

They leaped and swirled across the sky like tiny sprites, abandoning their cosmic coordinates. The stars rearranged themselves into gargantuan, intricate blueprints composed of text, numbers, symbols, and letters.

Surrounding these blueprints were vast, complex technical annotations. It was as if the entire Earth had been wrapped in a sphere of unfathomable schematic diagrams and instructions.

This wasn't an illusion.

Earth was literally encased in these massive projections.

The event shattered every known law of physics.

Anyone with basic astronomical knowledge understood that the night sky is a 3D complex of space-time, not a 2D canvas.

Stars that appear side-by-side to the naked eye are actually separated by trillions of miles in depth. Under no circumstances should they be able to form a coherent, flat blueprint visible from a single point on Earth.

What kind of power could simultaneously manipulate stars scattered at various distances and locations across space-time, twisting their light into blueprints and text that humans on Earth could recognize at a single glance?

To imagine something even more terrifying: were the stars themselves forcibly moved? And after such a massive shift in position, did their starlight somehow bypass the limitations of the speed of light to follow suit? Finally, what was the purpose of the entity who exerted such Herculean effort?

Everyone on Earth who pondered these questions was left trembling, chilled to the bone. They were truly too shocked to function.

The high-ranking officials of the Earth Civilization Alliance were equally stunned.

However, they quickly stabilized their emotions and ordered every observatory and space research institute to capture detailed footage of these giant blueprints and the expansive text filling the night sky.

Under these urgent commands, every ground-based telescope and orbital satellite began recording the mysterious schematics and text covering the deep space surrounding Earth.

...

"With a single thought, controlling a vast number of stars and galaxies within a radius of millions of light-years, moving them faster than light to form patterns facing Earth, while simultaneously forcing their light to reach the Earth instantly."

Seraphine hesitated. "From this description, an ordinary Sage King couldn't pull this off. It would require a top-tier Sage King at the very least, and the level of precision in that control would have to be incredibly meticulous."

During her review of the archived memories, she also found information regarding the evolutionary stages following the Houiste Federation's Peak Sage level, information gathered by the God of Hunger race through eons of interaction with them.

According to these records, Sages who do not wear a Divinity-Frame are generally bound by the shackles of the light-speed limit, preventing them from unleashing their full potential regardless of whether they are Low-tier or Peak.

But a Sage King is an entirely different matter.

Upon reaching the levels beyond the peak, a Houiste individual no longer needs a Divinity-Frame to manifest a Phantasm Field.

Furthermore, upon entering this level, their Phantasm Field, born from the Houiste Federation's dissection and study of the God of Hunger race's Holographic Domain and the complex mechanisms of the Realm of Phantasm's Mythic divine kingdoms, changes.

Previously, the coverage of their field was always inferior to a God of Hunger of the same rank, but now, in terms of breadth, precision, and intensity, it is no longer weaker than a Holographic Domain. They finally stand as equals.

Why is this so?

This is closely related to the specific method and entire process a Peak Sage undergoes to ascend to a Sage King.

The Sage system, from Low-tier to the Peak, basically focuses on the perception and control of various matter, energy, force fields, and rules within the physical universe.

However, to break through from a Peak Sage to a King, one must enter the Realm of Phantasm and, from scratch, step-by-step, deeply learn the evolution system of Mythic life, that is, the evolutionary path of information-state life.

Moreover, one must travel this path of information life evolution all the way to its conclusion, striving to evolve into the highest-tier Mythic being.

This is exactly what Seraphine's clone, the God of Wrath and Hatred, has always been curious about: that higher realm standing above Primordial Myth.

Generally speaking, the various levels of the information-state life evolution system in the Realm of Phantasm and the Sage evolution system of the Houiste in the material universe are somewhat blurred in their correspondence at lower levels.

However, at higher levels, these two systems roughly align.

A Low-tier Sage corresponds to an Ancient Myth; a Mid-tier Sage to a Primordial Myth; and a High-tier Sage to an Archaic Myth.

And the highest realm of the information-state life evolution system, which corresponds to the Peak of the Sage system, is... Eternal Myth.

In summary, stepping into the Sage King realm requires two essential conditions:

First, becoming a Peak Sage.

Second, becoming an Eternal Myth.

An evolver must tread both of these evolutionary paths to their absolute conclusion before they can truly unify the real and the illusory, matter and information.

Only then can they take the [Localized Tachyon Interface Field], also known as the Segmented Phantasm Field, and fully internalize it.

This power, which previously required a Divinity-Frame to manifest and contained the core traits of the God of Hunger's Holographic Domain alongside the operational mechanisms of the Realm of Phantasm's divine kingdoms, finally becomes their own inherent strength.

With this majestic power, they shatter the shackles of their previous systems.

They become a being eternally connected to the universe's Dirac Sea, boundless Ether, dark matter, and dark energy. Capable of super-power energy conversion, they possess the raw might to annihilate thousands of Milky Way sized galaxies in a single strike.

By maintaining a deep, constant link with the infinite Realm of Phantasm to harness faster-than-light tachyons, a Sage King can, with a mere thought, manifest a Phantasm Field spanning over a million light-years, fully projecting their observational and interactive force upon physical reality.

The "Top-tier Sage King" Seraphine discovered in the God of Hunger archives refers to an even higher achievement. This state is reached only after a Sage King, already standing at the end of the evolutionary road and straddling the worlds of matter and information, endures and refines themselves over billions of years.

A Top-tier Sage King is not only thousands of times more destructive than a standard Sage King, but their Tachyon Interface Field expands to a diameter of over ten million light-years.

Should such a being harbor even a flicker of murderous intent, they could single-handedly collapse an entire Supercluster or even a Supercluster Complex. The only thing that would cost them time is the sheer distance needed to traverse the vastness of space.

If these Superclusters were packed tightly before them rather than scattered across the void, a Top-tier Sage King could likely obliterate the entire mass into high-energy particles with a single blow.

By this logic, if several Top-tier Sage Kings were to wage war in the boundless universe, given that their casual strikes could instantly clear massive sectors of starry sky millions of light-years across, the results would be catastrophic.

Even a brief engagement would leave hundreds of millions, or even billions, of light-years of space utterly void, without a single celestial body remaining.

For instance, consider the KBC Void, the largest void in the observable universe, spanning two billion light-years in diameter. Who can say for certain if this terrifying expanse is a natural cosmic structure or the byproduct of a war between Top-tier Sage Kings eons ago?

To Seraphine, it seemed inevitable.

In the vastness of space, many of these cosmic voids were likely punched out by Top-tier Sage Kings. Wherever there are beings, there are conflicts; Top-tier Sage Kings are no exception.

"Looking at it this way, in terms of destructive breadth, intensity, and precision..." Seraphine mused calmly, "I am significantly above the Top-tier Sage Kings."

Indeed, while a Top-tier Sage King's Tachyon Interface Field reaches over ten million light-years, it pales in comparison to Seraphine's Light of Infinity, which boasts a diameter and range of eighty million light-years.

Furthermore, she possesses a host of other formidable abilities, including the four-dimensional spatial force, which transcends three-dimensional structures, and the even more terrifying five-dimensional spatial power, neither of which she has fully revealed since her use of Boundary Obliteration — All Perish.

"Boundary Obliteration — All Perish, huh..." Seraphine looked up into the misty void. "If I were to unleash it using five-dimensional unit cell power, how far would it reach? Likely... very far."

After a moment's thought, she chose not to strike. This was Seraphine's mercy and compassion.

Pulling her straying thoughts back, Seraphine continued to scroll through the information.

...

The astronomical researchers of the Earth Civilization Alliance worked tirelessly, recording the colossal blueprints and text in the stars before immediately diving into the grueling task of analyzing and compiling the most critical information.

They worked tirelessly, fully immersed in deciphering every hidden detail and secret within the images and information. Cryptography experts, along with top talents in physics and mathematics, joined the effort.

After three months of intense collaboration and rigorous analysis, the scientists finally presented their findings, a massive dossier, to the alliance's high-ranking officials.

As the officials skimmed the documents and listened to the scientists' briefings, they were stunned to learn that the mysterious patterns in space were actually the comprehensive blueprints for a super-colossal device named the [Grace of Death].

The technical information for this behemoth spanned over a thousand pages, detailing complex engineering parameters and technological breakthroughs of an unimaginable scale.

According to the blueprints, once completed, the Grace of Death would stand approximately twenty-eight kilometers tall, surpassing Olympus Mons, the tallest mountain in the Solar System, by two thousand meters. Its footprint would cover a staggering 230,000 square kilometers.

The discovery left the officials speechless and deeply unsettled. What kind of complex structure necessitated such a massive scale? And more importantly, what was its purpose?

Brimming with doubt, the leaders read on.

The blueprints revealed that the Grace of Death was composed of numerous modules, each with a specific function. Only when every part functioned in perfect synchronization could the device achieve its intended effect.

The information also included a series of alien, complex algorithms and computational models. According to the scientists, these models were designed to control and maintain the device's operation.

However, while the device's physical body was made of countless precision mechanical parts, the officials couldn't help but notice that its overall design and structure felt strangely distorted and grotesque.

Though every detail was mapped with mathematical precision, the device's overall design exuded an air of mystical chaos. Beyond the complex modules and algorithms, the officials found that the Grace of Death consisted of four primary components:

First, a massive quantum supercomputer designed to collect, process, and encode information.

Second, a transmission array composed of high-intensity signal transmitters, significantly larger than the quantum computer itself.

Third, a multitude of colossal high-energy laser emitters and crystal lenses used to focus, organize, and modulate the information flow.

Fourth, a supernatural array, far more complex, precise, and massive than the first three combined.

According to the information, this supernatural array, comprised of tens of thousands of skyscraper-sized components, each engraved inside and out with countless mystical 3D symbols and geometric carvings, was the true heart of the Grace of Death.

The other structures were merely auxiliary components.

Under the power of this supernatural array, the massive quantum computer could extract the mental consciousness, memories, perceptions, and even the "Source-Information" of all humanity. Through complex algorithms, this information would then be converted into a singular, strange information-state encoded sequence.

The dossier clarified the confusing term "Source-Information": it is not true information, but "information" is the only concept that can vaguely describe or carry it. It is something more fundamental than the soul, the bedrock of intelligent life, containing the origin of all intellect, emotion, belief, and creativity.

Then, they discovered even more shocking information. Within the expansive text, it was explicitly stated that the entity who left these blueprints was an unknown lifeform from the sixth dimension, calling itself the [Annihilation Traveler].

The entity provided no explanation for its actions or its descent into three-dimensional space. It simply stated in the message that only this device could save Earth's civilization. Whether to use it or not was entirely up to the people of Earth.

Six-dimensional space... high-dimensional life...

This bombshell left the leaders of the Earth Alliance reeling. They even suspected that the Sun's mutation was the work of this six-dimensional being, intending to use human civilization as an experiment, with this colossal device being part of the process.

...

"A six-dimensional being... one dimension higher than me. There are several forms high-dimensional life can take: informational, physical, energetic, or spatial. Which one was it?"

Seraphine pondered deeply. "This mysterious Annihilation Traveler must be vastly more powerful than a Top-tier Sage King, perhaps so powerful that comparisons are meaningless. So why come to 3D space? To gather experimental data? Or just to mess with lower beings for fun?"

More importantly, did this enigmatic Traveler still exist somewhere in the vast universe? Had it been hiding in some corner for billions of years, mockingly watching everything unfold in three-dimensional space?

It was impossible to know. Seraphine strongly suspected that the catastrophes faced by Earth's civilization in the previous era were likely the handiwork of this Annihilation Traveler.

"The Grace of Death... what a mocking name."

Her Transcendental Perception suggested that this Annihilation Traveler was likely not a "benevolent" entity.

"And Source-Information... that's just Root Spirituality," Seraphine mused. "It seems this unknown six-dimensional being is quite familiar with Spirituality. I wonder... has it also walked the path of Spiritual Ascension?"

She suspected the answer was yes. After all, Tu and the otaku God of Hunger both possessed semi-materialized Spirituality. This was unlikely to be a coincidence.

Their semi-materialized Spirituality was likely linked to the Grace of Death.

These thoughts flickered briefly before Seraphine continued her search.

Skimming past useless information, she finally found what she was looking for: the actual function of the Grace of Death. Strangely, unlike other sections, this information was incredibly blurred and inconsistent, as if the God of Hunger race possessed very few memories of this historical segment.

She only knew that the Earth Alliance leadership, after deciphering the blueprints, launched the "Nirvana" project. They assembled the largest scientific team in history to build the device. Any obstacles, people or events, were ruthlessly eliminated. It seemed they had put absolute faith in the Annihilation Traveler.

Seraphine, however, suspected this was a desperate move born of fear toward high-dimensional beings and the inability to survive the impending apocalypse. Using her Eye of True Revelation and Chaos Calculation to piece together the fragments, she finally deduced the answer.

"I see."

Seraphine's Eye of Transcendence processed a torrent of information. "The device's purpose was to encode the Source-Information of all humanity and transmit it into the cosmic microwave background radiation."

The cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation is the residual heat left over from the universe's birth. It exists as electromagnetic waves in every corner of the cosmos, it is omnipresent. Because it covers the entire universe, it possesses the characteristic of being nearly eternal and impossible to erase. This makes the CMB the ultimate "storage drive." Storing the encoded information of humanity within it would be incredibly secure and stable, preserving it almost indefinitely.

"I get it now," Seraphine murmured while scanning the God of Hunger memories, watching the previous era's Earth mobilization. They poured every ounce of manpower, resources, and energy into constructing the Grace of Death.

"Before the end came, humanity converted everything into an encoded sequence and uploaded it to the background radiation. Once the cataclysm passed, they could use massive black holes as signal receivers to retrieve and reverse-engineer the code, resurrecting humanity in the new universe... No, wait!"

She paused. "Something must have happened. Otherwise, why would Earth's civilization so decisively choose to skip eons of time just to be reborn in a new cosmic cycle?"
