When I first met Ozzy-well Ozias as I can no longer call him "Ozzy", I thought he was the most wonderful person who could ever walk the earth's surface. Hints at the meaning of his name: "salvation". I am now ashamed to admit that I was wrong. Ozias is only the worst man to walk, crawl, run, jump, or sprint in any land or any place. Knowing this, I still love him and I wait for him to change. But, I must catch you up on why I speak so poorly of him if I love him.
January 2, 2001, I walk into my favorite coffee shop with my mom. Except, mother said I'm not allowed coffee until I can afford my own but the smell of coffee beans and the sound of spoons hitting the side of coffee mugs calms me. My mother knows this so when she meets with her friends, she brings me along to study at my own table. I make sure to sit at my favorite table every time; in the back corner by the window.
So, I walk in and sit at my table but when I snap out of my trance, I see a boy around my age. He has hazel eyes neat eyebrows and a strong jawline. When I notice him, he smiles and says "No that seat's not taken". My heart stops and I stare at him for a while before his words register. I look around for my mother and realize her back is turned toward me.
I look at him and giggle, his smile and dimples making my stomach whirl. "Sorry I didn't see you", I explain. This is true, but a shocker because looking at him now is like I can't see anything EXCEPT him. He laughs as he holds his hand out and says " I'm Ozias, but you can call me Ozzy" and he winks. I place my hand in his, blushing as I struggle to get my words out "H-h-h-hi I'm K-Kynlee". He kisses my hand and gives me his number. I almost dropped dead just then. I was so intrigued by him but I couldn't figure out why.
