As Xiao Ruo sized up Feng Yue, Feng Yue was also examining her.
Upon seeing Xiao Ruo's delicate, youthful features, Feng Yue paused in surprise.
"Are you... Qin Xiaoruo?" Feng Yue asked uncertainly.
She had heard that Qin Xiaoruo's eldest son was old enough to marry, yet the woman before her appeared so young, hardly looking like someone with such a grown child.
Out of courtesy, Xiao Ruo slightly bowed to Feng Yue, but did not perform a full courtly bow, and seated herself by Feng Yue's side.
Even in front of Feng Liangbi, she wasn't required to kneel, let alone before Feng Yue.
Feng Yue, though well-versed in etiquette, did not make things difficult for Xiao Ruo over this minor issue, understanding that the relationship between Xilin Country and Feng Zhao Country was not solid. She had not lost her reason and feared that her actions might worsen the relations that had only just begun to ease.
