As the king and his right hand man walked through the corridors of the palace, a servant came walking towards them. "Milord, your- your guest wants to see you" the female servant kept her head down.
"Which guest are you referring to? The lady or her father?" Sebastian raised a brow.
"The lady milord".
Sebastian's eyes slightly lit up "Where is she?".
"I asked her to wait in the throne room milord, so a servant led her there" the servant said and waited to see if the king had anything more to say to her.
"You may leave" Sebastian dismissed her before slightly turning towards Benjamin.
"I want you to give me reports on the people of Irvington. The black magic holders families to be precise. Meet me in the gallery room when you're back" Sebastian ordered Benjamin before walking towards the throne room.
Getting there, he saw Mirabelle and a servant next to her. "Milord" the servant greeted.
"You may leave" Sebastian said, making the make servant bow before walking to the farthest side of the room. Where he couldn't hear the conversation between the king and the girl but close enough to hear if called on.
"Your majesty?" Mirabelle called out whilst bowing her head.
"Lady Mirabelle" Sebastian replied as he sat down on his throne.
"Milord, I have something to say and I'd like to be granted your audience" Mirabelle said, she did her best to sound confident. Not allowing the domineering presence of the king scare her.
"You have my attention Mirabelle" her name slipped gracefully out of his mouth like a gripping melody that would make any other woman blush but Mirabelle was unshaken.
"Thank you milord. If I may, I'd like to tell you what brought my father and I to the palace in the first place". Mirabelle said.
Sebastian quickly remembered that they were here solely because Mirabelle had another dream about him.
"Go ahead" he confirmed and Mirabelle carefully narrated all that happened in the dream.
Sebastian on the other hand had something else on his mind though his attention was still on her.
"Well, thank you for informing the crown about this. Every information would be treated swiftly and with care". He said as he watched her facial expression morph into a concerned one.
"Anything else you'd want to speak about lady Mirabelle?" He questioned.
Mirabelle was concerned with how the king would take what she wanted to say.
Summing up the courage, she straightened up and said "Milord, I am grateful for the physician you arranged for me and I am also grateful that you caught the person responsible for what happened to me but I would like to plead for a change of heart concerning the request you made to my father earlier".
Sebastian brows furrowed. "Request? What request?" He feigned ignorance, acting like he didn't know what the girl was referring to.
"My father told me you requested that we remain in the palace for some days" Mirabelle explained, not noticing the sarcasm in the king's tone and definitely not able to see the mischief playing in his eyes.
"And what was the reason he told you I said that?" He asked, wanting to know if Nolan had told her exactly what he had said to him.
"He said that you wanted the physician to do more check ups on me for some days before we take our leave" she innocently said.
"First of all lady Mirabelle, it wasn't a request. It was a command and it is for your good. In the coming days you'd understand" Sebastian said as he carefully watched her. Studying her every expression and capturing the rhythm of her heart.
"Milord if I may lay my concerns, I do not want to be here. Earlier on when I was alone before the incident, someone was in there with me. I asked who it was but I got no reply but I am certain your majesty someone was there. A very dark presence. I honestly want to return home milord, I do not feel comfortable here. My mother must be worried" she admitted.
Sebastian's expression hardened after hearing her explain. "And you are sure that something or someone was with you?" He asked and Mirabelle quickly affirmed.
Standing up from his throne, he walked to where she was seated and said "Give me your hand Mirabelle".
Mirabelle, utterly confused raised her hand and Sebastian carefully took it before saying "I want you to walk with me".
He held her hand firmly whilst her other hand still held her stave. He led her to the huge garden and placed her on a chair before sitting himself.
"You shouldn't be afraid of any harm coming to you. I respect your father alot and I always made sure that whenever he came to the palace to work, no harm came to him. For you it wouldn't be any different" he explained.
Mirabelle's tried to feel better after hearing his words but the words were coming from a man she also feared.
"Thank you Milord" Mirabelle gave up trying to convince him to change his mind.
Sebastian wondered why he had an instant liking towards the human girl. After everything he had been through, he never knew his heart was capable of liking or loving any human.
He didn't know if he wanted to call it love but it was certainly a liking and he doesn't let go of things he liked.
