"Right." Yuwa's smile took on a different quality, something sharper underneath the warmth of it, like a blade wrapped in cloth. She turned to Nathan with that look fully in place now. "Games." She tilted her head. "Would you like to play one?"
"Now that is interesting," Shige said, leaning forward with the fire catching the excitement in his eyes. "What kind of game did you have in mind, Yuwa?"
"A drinking game," she said, lifting her bottle with a casual flourish. "Sake. I would wager there will be competitions over drinks at the festival as well, so consider it practice."
"Definitely," one of the men across the fire said, nodding enthusiastically. "Drinks, food, sumo as well. I am genuinely looking forward to all of it."
"A sake competition," Shige repeated, rolling the idea around with visible pleasure. "Now that I can get behind."
