A moment later, there was a knock on the door. Moses leaned against the doorframe, silent.
"Mr. Moses?"
Outside, a voice rang out, a pleasant female voice; it was Yu Yao.
Moses raised an eyebrow and reached out to open the door. Sure enough, Yu Yao stood outside; she had already taken off her coat, with her white shirt sleeves rolled up to her elbows, and was wearing a blue floral apron.
Unlike the previous business attire that made her look sharp and imposing, she exuded a bit of homely gentleness.
Yu Yao was just about to knock again when the door suddenly opened, causing her to jump slightly.
"Why haven't you left yet?"
"I..." Yu Yao came back to her senses and smiled at him, "I made something for you to eat, in the downstairs dining room!"
He didn't recall there being any food at his place, so Moses stepped downstairs and walked into the dining room.
On the table were two plates of steamed dumplings, two plates of light vegetarian dishes, and two small bowls of congee.
