Sylas didn't say anything in response. The answer to that question was obviously no, and Fanelei definitely knew that. He didn't really see the purpose of the question.
Honestly, he had gotten really used to Gralith, who was quite similar to himself. Because of that, there weren't moments like this between them at all. In fact, the only time there had been the smallest bit of contention had been when Gralith lost his temper, but by this point, Sylas understood where those emotions had been coming from.
What he didn't understand, though, was what Fanelei was trying to do here. If she had something to say, then she should certainly just say it.
