"I…" Elara cleared her throat again, still uncomfortable. She looked at her brother, and when she was sure that Sylas wasn't just asking her that question because he was trying to trap her into saying something stupid, she started to speak.
"When I originally found the path, I wanted to send the puppet instead of my real body. But I knew that that wouldn't work. The puppet's connection would definitely be severed.
"But the moment you gave me the puppet I had been trying to figure out a way to send it beyond Earth."
Elara cleared her throat once more as though revealing her misdeeds to her brother was the worst thing she had ever been through.
"Honestly, being able to craft flesh was just a byproduct of that. I wasn't looking to do it originally. And because I couldn't do that, I didn't have any real plans to do, well… this." She opened her hands as though to point to herself.
