He honestly didn't expect the Duchess to make that sort of mistake, but then he recalled just how innocent and naive she was. One wouldn't expect that a demoness would be a virgin at whatever age she happened to be now, and it also had to be remembered that there was a deluge of memories her main body probably had that her current one did not.
Sylas had made it so that she recalled the memories from their previous interactions, but he could only do this with the versions of her that he had met. That meant that the only built-in memories the Duchess had were limited to what naivete she was birthed into this world with, and the memories she had with Sylas.
