I can't believe she's finally speaking to me, you see Ariana is just a girl who is going through a phase which I don't wish for any girl my age. Mum was right, boys are indeed a distraction and when it's keeps happening, you're bound to get heartbroken...just like Ariana.
And if things finally go well, we might actually become friends and after a long while I'll have my own group of friends- me, Sarah and Ariana. I write, drawing a smiley face in front when I suddenly think of my brother.
Dear diary, I'm scared...scared that my brother would ruin everything all, I know he's just trying to get back with her but I can't just shake this feeling that I'll lose every, my friends if Ariana finds out about him. But I have to be the good sister. Why do I have to sacrifice things just to make others happy? Why?
It's already past ten when I shut close my diary, locking it up inside my drawer because I can't risk people finding it, people judging why a highschool student in her final year still writes in a diary. I stood up to stretch my feet when I heard a horn as I quickly rushed over to the window and there he was. My brother stepping out of a black SUV as the gate man rushed to open the door for him after a few knocks on the gate.
"Ariana?" I thought. "What if she sees him?" I panicked, immediately putting on my fluffy slippers and headed downstairs.
"You're here! I thought you would have gone to bed." Joshua said as the maid closed the door behind him.
"No I was waiting for you!" I lied but I think he saw through my lies as he immediately flipped his back in the couch, taking of his shoes.
"Is she up there?" He asked, softly.
My brother had never spoken so calmly before but all for a girl he was a wreck.
"She's already asleep." I say before he does something foolish.
"It was really hectic at Jayden's house, that's why I'm late." He explained.
"Mum was worried but she's already taken her medications and gone to bed." I say.
" Joshua what do we do now, about Ariana...what will happen if she sees you tomorrow?" I asked anxious.
She had already started speaking to me after the cold treatment she gave earlier on and I am not about to lose a potential friend all because of Joshua's carelessness.
"It's going to be fine but before I go up, can I see her?" He asked as I panicked.
"I don't think that's a great idea, what if she wakes up?"
"She won't, I promise to be as quiet as I can." Joshua said as he hurried upstairs before I could say anything.
JOSHUA'S POV-
Here I am, standing in front of the guest room which Ariana was already staying. I wandered outside for a while contemplating whether I should go in or not. Could this be another disaster like before? What if she's awake and she starts to cry again after seeing me? My heart breaks as I remember her crying on the floor of the girls restroom. I took a deep breath as I opened the door of the room slowly. A petite figure cuddled at the corner of the big bed holding a pillow tightly. It was the second time I watched her sleep since the first time we ever met. The first time was in the woods when they had gotten lost on a school excursion. He held himself back as the memory washed through him. She still looked as beautiful except the obvious dark circles under her eyes and her pale white skin.
"She must have really gone through a lot in the past few months, and I wasn't there to do anything for her." I say as I made my way further into the room, wrapping the thick duvet around her to prevent the cold breeze, coming from the window. I stroked her hair and touched her face until my hand landed on her lips before I jolted backwards.
"Ariana I promise that I'll get you back no matter what it takes, I'll never leave you...I love you." I whispered into her ears, giving her a peck on her forehead before leaving the room.
ARIANA 'S POV-
I woke up the next morning feeling kind of strange. I felt like someone was here with me last night but I couldn't remember anything except that she had dinner with Annabel and her mum and went up to bed but something still felt off...yes she wasn't covered up before bed last night or did perhaps Annabel or her mum covered her up?
"Urgh..." I groaned, trying to get rid of my weird thoughts as I got out of bed and had a little stress. I looked over to the bin to see my smashed phone.
"Why did I break it?" I frowned. "I don't even know the time?" I say, walking over to the bin as I angrily kicked it over.
KNOCK!KNOCK!
"Who's there?" I asked as I quickly adjusted my night wear.
"It's me Annabel!" Annabel replied from the other end as I rushed to open the door.
"Come in!" I offered.
"I'm sorry if I woke you up, well Mr Philip already posted our groups for project we're doing." She said.
'Wait she came here for the project?' I thought putting my hands on my head, massaging them to prevent me from losing my mind.
"Yes, I remember." I say to prevent the awkwardness.
"Well I thought you wouldn't be able to see it since your phone is already broken." She said. 'How did she know?' I thought again.
"So you're in the same group with urm..." She turns her head to her phone and starts reading "Jessica, Bella, Amaya, James and J-Joshua" .
'Wait did she just say Joshua?" I thought, a terrified look on my face.
