Chapter 24 - Trust Issues

Neville led Ava to a hidden deserted area in the courtyard and then paused.

"Okay, I guess we're here why did you lead me here, why did you_"

"I did that on purpose, I dont want anyone to hear what we want to discuss" Ava heard Neville's familiar voice say but she was puzzled, his mouth wasnt moving. It felt like the vice was simply in her head. Was she imagining things?

"No, you aren't imagining anything, it's my voice you're hearing" his voice said again reading her mind this time.

"Bu…but Neville?" Ava was still a little confused. Why was he reading her mind and talking in her head? What was he trying to do?

"Look, I brought you here to save you in case my hunches about you are not right, it's better you stop asking yourself questions and start talking"

"So…what do you_"

"Why are you here, in the palace? What's your mission here?"

"What are you even saying?"

"Ava, I have given you this opportunity to confess and possibly free yourself from this, better start talking"

"Wait…what did you even see?"

"Your magic, today…" Neville's voice said in her head had said. "Where exactly are you from?"

"I was about to ask you that"

"What? Me?" Neville finally said aloud.

"Yes you…" Ava said to him "Wait, do you even think that I understand this place Im in? I don't even know how I got here in the first place? I'm just staying to figure out how I'll get back home"

"So why did you get here?"

"Stop asking me unnecessary questions, I don't know. I wanted to ask you about that guest in the palace. Who is he?"

"Sometimes I don't seem to understand who is the student, you or me?" Neville said bossily "the guest in the palace is the most powerful being in the mythic world, everyone calls him Lord Supreme. He's in level ten"

Ava nodded slowly, trying to figure out why he felt so familiar but to no avail.

"You passed your second test…and the third one too"

"Wow, so I passed the coin test, phew!" Ava bounced back to her usual excited state "Third test? You hadn't given me any other tests apart from the_"

"This was your third test, and you passed well. You are now officially my student" he said dryly.

"So, can I call you Prince Neville now?"

Neville looked up at her and raised his brows, surprised "Okay…I guess" he nodded and motioned to walk away.

"Can I also get my flute back? the white one you took from me?"

"Of course not, you'll get it...if you find it" Neville deadpanned and Ava watched him leave.

She had thought he was going to be nicer and perhaps even give her Sweet.

Neville was a brat through and through.

......…

"If your plan doesn't work after one week, Ill take back what's mine and our agreement would be over"

"And if my plan works, great one?" The king asked smiling as widely as ever.

"You'll get what you want" The dark-haired male said coldly.

"No, we both get what we want" King Damien corrected. "We'll win the battle before it even started; there'll be no war, no people to protect"

The king watched as the man's piercing golden eyes watched his own. It was obvious that he didn't trust him even one bit.

"Let's watch and see" Lord Supreme had said before a dark green mist surrounded his body and he disappeared into nothingness.

King Damien was over the moon, everything was going the way he had planned.

It was only a matter of a little more time.

...........

Ava had noticed the visitor was gone; she was somewhat curious on what the strange man had come to discuss with the king. It didn't seem like it was going to be something good.

She was headed for her chambers when she saw Princess Aurora talking to some maids and laughing. It had been quite a while since they had both discussed, she was the only sincere person she had met since her arrival here.

Aurora smiled immediately she saw her and signalled for her maids to leave the both of them for a while.

"Hello, Ava" Aurora waved

"Hi" Ava said "You look beautiful" she complemented. Actually, beautiful was an understatement to Aurora's dressing and makeup as she was looking as good as a bride already. The masseuses had done a beautiful job of skin treatment; making her ivory skin shine brighter than ever.

"Oh thanks, you look breath-taking as well" Aurora replied. "Thanks for coming, I really needed someone to talk to"

"You're welcome, your majesty"

Ava sat beside her.

"I heard what had happened today, you aren't supposed to be allowed step outside, you are supposed to receive utmost care from your maids for the whole of today" Aurora scolded.

"Oh well" Ava sighed "I really don't know what happened to me, I just felt like completely charged and different images rushed to my head at once. I…I can't even explain it. And please don't blame Rosslyn and Annabelle, I was the one that ran away from my chambers"

"Okay" Aurora chuckled. "I actually understand, it's normal to feel like that when you just upgraded to a new level. Especially when it's your first time"

"It was quite funny; thank goodness it didn't go beyond that"

"So, are you having fun with your new powers?" Aurora asked, she was bored

"Well, I still haven't figured out how it works yet, what can I do with level two magic?" Ava asked curiously.

"Really, Neville hasn't told you?"

"Uh...well… Ive only been told to explore"

"Okay then, Level two is full of quirks of magic, you probably have to learn to control it and so on"

"Yeah, I woke up levitating on my bed" Ava laughed.

"You'll see a lot more than that, just be careful anyway"

Ava nodded; Aurora was right, Aaron was right too.

She needed to keep eyes and ears open.
