If it's someone older, or about the same age, not calling him 'uncle' might be understandable, but when much younger ones also call him by his name, it's a bit much.
It's not that calling him 'uncle' would make him gain weight, but it just doesn't feel right. If you have the guts, go ahead and insist on not calling him that!
But now, you're all coming over to call him 'uncle,' even more affectionately than your real uncle, what's that supposed to mean?
Clearly, it's not that you can't call him 'uncle,' but that you didn't respect him before, so you didn't call him that.
Yi Anguo also has several cousins, basically his mother's younger brothers, but Yi Anguo goes to visit them every year for New Year's, and they bring their sons to visit Yi Anguo's parents every year.
However, these cousins, although they go with their parents to visit their grandparents and their real uncles for New Year's, never go with their parents to visit Yi Anguo's parents, who are their great-uncles!
