Angelo woke up first, he hadn't planned to fall asleep, but after being trapped by Nikolai, there was little else to do. His face was squished against the Mafia King's shoulder when he opened his eyes and regained his bearings. Sometime while he slept, Nikolai had switched their positions, now he laid on him.
He lifted his head to see Nikolai still fast asleep, the Alpha's arms wrapped tightly around him. He was so ridiculous, insisting on sleeping together in this cramped sofa when he could have simply moved them to the bed.
His view from the couch was limited, but he was able to see that the sun had gone down a while ago. Even though he was wide awake, Angelo didn't move from his spot, lowering his head to rest on Nikolai's shoulder again.
The Mafia King's heartbeat was steady, even a little slow, like he was very deeply asleep. Angelo tried his best to focus on that calming beat and his pleasant, cool scent, and not their intimate positions.
