Ryo finds himself in complete darkness. Within the darkness, there was a single ball of blue light in the distance. Instinctively, Ryo starts chasing the light, but the closer he gets, the further it seems to be. The light then suddenly stopped and seemingly waited for Ryo to get to it. Ryo gets close enough to the light and stops running but starts walking towards it cautiously.
Ryo gets closer and closer to the blue light, and now, after a while, stands in front of the light. The light was now right in front of him. At this point, he could now make out what the light was. It was a cockroach burning with blue and black flames.
He took another step and reached out his hand to grab it. Normally, he wouldn't do anything that seemed dangerous unless the situation called for it, but this time it was like the flaming insect was calling for him. Finally, he grabbed the flaming insect in his brown, cold hands and couldn't help but smile from the warmth.
Without warning, the insect extended its flames, and the flames engulfed his entire body. The once warm and comforting flame had now become hot and disturbing.
Ryo's face surged with pain as he sighed. The pain was much, but not unbearable. Within the darkness stood Ryo, burning like a magnificent flame specter.
Instantaneously, a gigantic flaming cockroach-human hybrid erupted from the darkness like a blazing volcano. Within just seconds, Ryo could recognize that this entity was the one that caused his shelter to fall. The monster that he saw before was beautiful but had an exoskeleton, antenna, and scary appearance due to its height, but this monster was in the image of a beautiful woman with obsidian skin and antenna, but no exoskeleton. It was smaller and hence less scary, but he could still recognize it.
In an instant, the monster grabbed Ryo on all four limbs with four hands that it produced. It then opened its large mouth, revealing its terrifying metallic silver teeth.
It reaches in for a bite, which makes Ryo tense up with fear.
"Gasp"
Ryo takes in the air as he wakes from his slumber in a hospital, dressed in patient clothes and riddled with sweat, his vision blurry.
"it was all a dream" he says and laughs at the same time.
The room was cold. The A/C blew air nonstop, cooling and calming him down. He then looks around and notices that there are about two doctors and four nurses staring at him as if he had just woke up from a coma or something. He takes a look down at his bed and notices that it is burnt. His bed looked like it had just been brutalized by a crazed child who was handed an iron. At this point, Ryo was very confused as to what had just happened. There were hospital staff in the room he was in and his bed was burnt to a crisp.
"Are you ok?" the tall blond doctor with smooth white skin and amber-like eyes said.
The doctor was quite beautiful. So beautiful that he could probably nab any girl that he wanted. And upon all that, he had gem-like eyes that could sink the heart of any woman.
(This fine dude is asking me how I am. Where am I even?) He ponders
(Where am I and why do I hate this guy's face so much?) He thinks to himself while glaring at the doctor.
"Can you hear me? Are you all right?" the second doctor said. The second doctor was brown with purple hair. He had vampire-like indigo eyes that could suck in the hearts of humans, and was taller than the other doctor but just as beautiful.
(Ugh. Another one) Ryo ponders.
Ryo was just as beautiful as the doctors, but his hair and skin were a bit unkept since he was in the wilderness for about a month. For this reason, he felt a bit weird in front of two god-like men.
"I think he should be ok to see him. Go contact Captain Kurayami," said the blond doc.
"Will do," replied the brown colored doc.
Both the doctors and the nurse left the room. As they left, Ryo noticed that one of the nurses was also exceptionally beautiful. She was also blond and had golden eyes similar to his eyes.
Not long after the doctors came into the room, a man named Kurayami, dressed in a black and silver cloak-like military uniform, came into the room with a man wearing the same type of uniform, but his was more formal, with a hood.
The man was tall and absolutely huge. His physique could actually be compared to a gorilla that was on steroids. Although he had a lot of muscle, it wasn't so much that it was not proportional to his body, but was in perfect sync with his height. The man's face was hidden by the hood, but Ryo knew he didn't want to mess with that dude.
"Are you ok? The doctors told me that you set your bed on fire when you were sleeping because of the amount of heat coming out of your body while you slept. Do you have any fire abilities?" Asked Kurayami.
"Yes, I feel fine, and no, I don't think I have any fire abilities. I had a dream where I was burning and being attacked. Next thing I knew I was on this bed." Replied Ryo.
"Well, who cares anyway? I know I don't."
"I ask you some questions, as well as answer any questions you might have. What would you like to know before I ask what I want?" said Kurayami.
"When we first met, and when you threw me out of the car, you mentioned the name 'Drauga'. What exactly is that? Who are you, and why did you save me? Also, where am I?"
Without hesitation, Ryo asked his question. He was curious about all that was going on, and wanted to know more about his present situation.
"Drauga is the name given to those undead monsters by the world. Didn't you know that?" said Kurayami.
"So that's what they're called. I didn't know that," replied Ryo.
"As for who I am. I already told you. I am Kurayami Katakuri, a member of the Grateful Undead Corps of black steel shelter. Nothing more, nothing less. And as for why I saved you, I did it because I wanted to."
"Oh, and currently, you are in the hospital for GUD (Grateful Undead) corps soldiers.' Said Kurayami
"OK then. So what's happening to me and why do I have powers?" Asked Ryo.
"Well, that's easy to answer. You know those things that were chasing after you. The Drauga. Those guys are all infected with a virus. Now, when one of those guys bites you, two things can happen. It's either you become a mindless human-eating Drauga, or you become a GUD like the rest of us. That's what you are. A GUD (Grateful Undead). By becoming a GUD, you will become a human Drauga hybrid capable of making use of abilities unique to you. You were bitten by a Drauga, right? That's how you got your abilities," Kurayami concludes his speech.
"I have answered all your questions and I know you have more. But before then I have something to ask." He continues.
"I want you to join the GUD corps." He says with a smile on his face.
(That just sounds like trouble) Ryo says in his mind.
