Chapter 4607: Do You Want to Become a Supreme?
There's no denying that Boyang Sovereign and Purple Star Sovereign were phenomenally lucky.
When they discovered this independent space and found a time space tunnel, they entered without understanding and the very first thing they encountered was this Divine Lotus.
The Divine Lotus was one of the few artifacts still usable after the collapse of this world.
Contained within the Lotus were many records. This world was called Divine Lotus Realm, and it had once been ruled by a supreme being known as Divine Lotus Sovereign.
After the world fell apart, the Divine Lotus Sovereign perished. But at the final moment, he gathered all his power and the forces of heaven and earth to forge this lotus.
The lotus survived the demise, though badly damaged. Fortunately, its stored information was not completely lost.
From the records, Boyang Sovereign and Purple Star Sovereign realized that this was another world, and they learned how to break through to the Sovereign realm.
The monsters created by the collapse of this world contained primordial crystals; by hunting them and refining the qi inside, one might break through to the Sovereign realm.
But this was only a possibility true breakthrough required much more, and wasn't easy at all.
Divine Lotus Realm gave them hope, so they split forces: Boyang Sovereign continued following Calamity Sovereign's plans;
Purple Star Sovereign explored here, initially alone and relying on the Lotus, barely managing it.
This was too secret to share widely, so they kept silent.
When Lin Moyu was born, being the core of Calamity Sovereign's scheme, the fate of everyone connected to him changed.
Purple Star Sovereign then took Ning Yiyi and the others away.
After so many years, Purple Star Sovereign had refined the Divine Lotus, obtaining cultivation techniques suited to exploring this place and acquiring a powerful battle formation.
She used these to train Ning Yiyi and the others, making them valuable allies.
Later, Lin Mohan joined; because Boyang Sovereign trusted her, he revealed everything, and she became part of the team.
Now that secrets were revealed, Purple Star Sovereign fully explained everything.
Lin Moyu listened silently, asking, "Do you know what that method really is?"
Purple Star Sovereign was puzzled, "Isn't it just Divine Lotus cultivation arts?"
Lin Moyu pressed, "With your experience, haven't you noticed anything off about this method?"
She shook her head; she hadn't detected anything unusual.
Lin Mohan felt something, "I've studied it too it seems to focus only on soul and body, not on Daos. I thought it was just the way of Divine Lotus Realm, but apparently not."
Lin Moyu replied, "Of course not. Training only soul and body is a method used by supremes to train explorers for world remnants."
Seeing their confusion, Lin Moyu realized they genuinely didn't know.
Perhaps the records were lost in the collapse, or Divine Lotus Sovereign had never written them down or maybe he was not even dead yet.
Lin Moyu quietly asked Chaos Gem, "Check if this world's supreme still exists."
Chaos Gem responded and Calamity Scepter flew out into the distance.
Lin Moyu explained, "A world's supreme cultivates followers to explore other world remnants. These followers are trained in soul and body, not Daos;
the method left by Divine Lotus Sovereign is just such a technique."
Lin Mohan sighed, "You really know more than all of us."
Lin Moyu didn't deny it. "This isn't the right path; Purple Star Sovereign didn't know, so I don't blame you. Everyone has their reasons; I understand. I was weak then, but now I want to change things."
This time, Purple Star Sovereign didn't argue she had no grounds to do so, especially here, where strength rules.
Lin Moyu continued, "You want primordial qi, but the crystals here are too murky;
even if you gathered billions, the refined qi still wouldn't be enough to break into the Sovereign realm."
"Calamity Sovereign managed to cross the threshold for other reasons beyond primordial qi and he still hasn't fully succeeded. He's now stuck between Sovereign and Supreme, neither here nor there, no different than Dao."
Purple Star Sovereign was astonished how did Lin Moyu know so much, far beyond her own understanding.
Lin Mohan asked, "So, what do you think he'll do next?"
Lin Moyu replied, "No one knows. Calamity Sovereign is deeply scheming, impossible for outsiders to predict."
"No need to make it so complicated he has his own rival, that 'Dao' you know,
and also another being at the same tier, hidden behind the scenes."
Purple Star Sovereign and Lin Mohan stared in shock; Purple Star Sovereign exclaimed, "There's another one?"
Lin Moyu nodded, "Yes, always hidden, never showing his face."
Lin Mohan pondered more deeply. "What exactly do they want?"
Lin Moyu answered, "What else becoming a Supreme. They only have one chance;
if they fail, they die. And not just them this world will die, and so will chaos/ancient Wilds."
Purple Star Sovereign was incredulous. "How could that be?"
Lin Moyu answered, "Nothing impossible. Divine Lotus Realm was destroyed; there are countless broken worlds like it.
Our own chaos/ancient Wilds is no exception.
Only a Supreme's appearance can disperse the world's catastrophes and buy time."
"Of course, this destruction is measured in tens of billions of years, which is meaningless for most beings few survive that long."
Lin Mohan asked, "I sensed some changes in chaos/ancient Wilds recently. Is this the world catastrophe?"
Lin Moyu confirmed, "This world's third catastrophic cycle has begun.
It's also the last one there won't be a fourth, so this is their final chance."
"But that chance is slim even if someone becomes a Supreme, it may not be them."
Suddenly, Lin Moyu's tone changed and he lowered his voice. "Sister, do you want to be a Supreme?"
Lin Mohan was surprised. "Doesn't matter to me."
Lin Moyu said, "If it comes down to them becoming Supreme, you should do it instead."
Lin Mohan sighed, "Becoming a Supreme is no easy feat.
Forget Supreme even the next step, I can't see a way past."
Lin Moyu simply gave her a look he believed his sister would understand.
Purple Star Sovereign said, "Since catastrophe is coming and those three are linked, our side needs someone to oppose them even more.
We can't give up on primordial qi from Divine Lotus Realm remnants."
She was clearly not ready to abandon Ning Yiyi and the group.
Lin Moyu ignored her, looking into the distance as Calamity Scepter returned, with a horde of monsters trailing behind.
