Chapter 4655: Corpse of the Azure Dragon
Lin Moyu rushed to the corpse mountain found by the undead soldiers. The mountain was so vast that it stretched into the distance like a mighty range Lin Moyu's eyes couldn't see its end at a glance.
Most of the corpse was buried underground; what was visible aboveground was less than a tenth of its full mass.
In the Chaotic Wilderness, the largest creature Lin Moyu had ever seen was the Chaotic Desolate Bull. The Bull's body stretched millions of miles, like a moving world by itself.
But compared to the corpse before him, the Bull was actually smaller.
Although the laws of worlds differ, generally, size determines power.
For a corpse to be this gigantic, its power in life must have been unimaginable.
Sadly, it was dead devoid of aura, with the world's laws shattered. No new consciousness could arise. It was truly, completely dead.
"This corpse is probably more than tens of millions of miles long," Lin Moyu murmured as he took it all in.
The Chaos Gem also stared at the body. "I think I've seen this guy before. Let me think for a moment."
Searching its vast memory banks, the Chaos Gem finally remembered, "I got it! No wonder this world felt so familiar. That's it!"
Lin Moyu understood the hint and gave it space to elaborate. "Please fill me in."
The Chaos Gem chuckled, "Since you ask, I'll explain. This guy was the supreme being of this world a true supreme one."
"A supreme?" Lin Moyu was shocked the body he saw belonged to a supreme!
If it was a supreme, its massive size made sense.
The Chaos Gem continued, "His name was Azure Dragon. This world is called Azure Dragon World. Among all supreme beings, he was in the top ranks.
There are many supreme beings; if you're in the top hundred, you're truly elite."
The Chaos Gem went on, "He was already strong, not only refining the world itself but also mastering the Primordial Art. He had the whole world in his hands.
I recall he possessed a treasure forged from the Wall of the World a treasure on par with the world's level. He used it to extend the lifespan of his world better even than the Primordial Qi could.
Originally, his world could withstand only five calamities. Thanks to that treasure, the cycle remained five, but the span of each doubled."
Supreme beings all sought to avoid death; they formed expeditions to other ruined worlds seeking primordial energy and relics, hoping to prolong both their world's and their own lives.
Azure Dragon's treasure could buy double the normal time, far better than scouring other worlds for primordial energy.
The Chaos Gem said, "Other supremes tried to steal Azure Dragon's treasure, even started fights. But Azure Dragon was so strong, he drove them all off.
Maybe the treasure is why the world fell into slow collapse, letting Azure Dragon's corpse remain intact."
The Chaos Gem added, "It must be. The Wall of the World provides many materials, but very few treasures Azure Dragon was lucky.
As I recall, he merged the treasure into the world's core to avoid trouble. If it still exists, it'll be located in the core."
Lin Moyu nodded. "I've got another idea can I resurrect him?"
"No!" the Chaos Gem replied, utterly certain.
"Why not?" Lin Moyu pressed.
The Chaos Gem explained, "It's not that you can't do it, but what would happen after? He's a supreme he and his world are forever bound, inseparable.
Supremes can't barge into other worlds if they do, it'll trigger that world's premature destruction.
This world is already dead; if you force Azure Dragon back to life, its power will wreck the dead world, accelerating its collapse. Even your arts couldn't keep him alive.
And if collapse happens, you may never find the way home."
After several reasons, it was clear not that Lin Moyu couldn't revive him, but that doing so would be disastrous.
It was a tempting thought another supreme as an ally but now Lin Moyu saw it was impossible.
"Forget it, then," he said, dropping the idea; raising Azure Dragon was just digging his own grave.
The Chaos Gem pointed into the distance. "Master, there's something over there."
Lin Moyu flew in the indicated direction. The Azure Dragon's corpse stretched across the world millions of miles. The spot the Gem pointed to was near its tail.
The tail was also immense most of it was buried. Only a tiny part protruded.
At the site, Lin Moyu looked carefully. At first, he found nothing; but on closer inspection he saw a hairline crack where the tail hit the earth.
The crack was small only compared to the dragon's immensity in reality, it was kilometers across, a giant canyon.
"That thing is at the very bottom of the tail."
Lin Moyu dove into the crack, flying down. Compared to the huge tail, he was like a speck of dust.
Even dead, the Azure Dragon's scales gleamed with a metallic luster.
The crack looked like it was made by the tail's impact, but on closer look there were marks of intervention.
"Someone's been here," Lin Moyu thought. As he went deeper, the signs of intervention grew clearer someone had indeed been here, long ago, but not Sovereign September.
Bit by bit, Lin Moyu sensed a strange aura.
The Azure Dragon's body no longer exuded anything its power had faded with the world, leaving only form.
But now Lin Moyu felt something different.
"Primordial Qi," he realized. The energy was faint but distinct.
Primordial Qi actually existed here astonishing.
Then he felt a second unusual aura: one from the Chaotic Wilderness.
He realized: this must be the corpse the Chaotic Desolate Bull wanted him to find.
At last, at the bottom, he entered a vast cavern and saw a pool of clear water.
In the heart of the pool, a person was sitting cross legged; at the pool's edge, lay a bull.
Both man and beast corpses.
