Chapter 4672: The Foundation of the Supreme
Lin Moyu experienced another brief moment of enlightenment, rapidly absorbing and digesting the incoming information.
The second pattern formed by the sigils was indeed Azure Dragon Heaven. By mastering it, one could completely refine Azure Dragon Heaven, and even turn the entire world into a special artifact. Although such a world artifact couldn't be used directly against enemies, it could substantially amplify the power of a Supreme. The force of the world would become even purer and, in return, further refine the Supreme's own strength.
Moreover, once the world was fully refined, the Supreme could even keep the world within their body carrying it wherever they went. Lin Moyu pondered: the function of the Primal Technique wasn't as simple as it appeared.
He wasn't eager to combine the remaining sigils just yet, but instead deeply considered the second aspect of the technique.
The first aspect was controlling and altering rules to bend them for one's own benefit.
A Supreme could already do as they pleased within a world, so on the surface, this ability did not seem significant. But Lin Moyu believed there was more.
Now, understanding the second function, he felt he was glimpsing the truth.
The first and second abilities needed to be used together to reveal their true power.
Turning the world into an artifact like existence, while simultaneously altering some of its rules, would make its energy vastly more focused, both refining one's power for cultivation and providing an endless well of strength for battle.
Simultaneously, this second ability must be related to a third one.
After some thought, Lin Moyu started fusing the remaining sigils.
He had already realized the Primal Technique was an integrated whole mastering just one aspect was only scratching the surface, but mastering them all let one use its true might.
The remaining sigils made up nearly two fifths of all, constituting the largest part.
The fusion process was smooth; there were almost no difficulties.
When all the sigils became one, a faint glow appeared and Lin Moyu heard countless voices.
These voices seemed to come from all manner of living beings; for a moment, Lin Moyu felt as if the world was filled with a throng of bustling, vibrant life.
In the glow appeared phantom forms of uncountable kinds of living things people, beasts, insects, flowers, grass, birds…
It seemed that anything that ever existed within a world was present.
A torrent of information surged into Lin Moyu's mind.
"So the last thing is the myriad living beings."
Once more in a state of enlightenment, Lin Moyu finally understood the full purpose of the Primal Technique.
The three seemingly unrelated powers were actually part of one whole the next step on the Supreme's ladder.
Only by pushing the Primal Technique to the limit could one hope to reach the summit.
But how many Supremes could truly grasp this principle?
The first power was changing rules; used alongside the second, it would make the Supreme even stronger and allow for incredible combat ability and self preservation.
The third power Myriad Living Beings gathered the faith and power of all creatures, merging into supreme might and becoming part of the self, defending against incursions from the Forbidden Zone of Life.
This is the basis, the foundation that allows a Supreme to step into the Forbidden Zone of Life.
Of course, insight into the Forbidden Zone itself was just as necessary, which is why each world would have a region that absorbed the energy of the Forbidden Zone so Supremes could adapt to and understand it.
Only after perfecting all of this could one truly hope to enter the Forbidden Zone.
Not long after, Lin Moyu ended his enlightenment fully grasping the Primal Technique's purpose.
Awakening slowly to the familiar chaos and void, he asked, "How long have I been cultivating?"
The Chaos Gem answered, "Not long, just over a hundred years."
To the Chaos Gem, a hundred years was nothing extremely short, in fact. All the top beings he'd ever observed measured training time in tens of thousands of years. Even a single seclusion of a million years was normal. Lin Moyu was comprehending the Primal Technique, so a hundred years was short indeed.
"Did you get any results, Master? If not, there's no hurry the Primal Technique is hard to master, we can just take it slow."
The Chaos Gem never expected Lin Moyu could achieve anything in such a short time, even offering some consolation.
Lin Moyu smiled. "I've pretty much mastered the Primal Technique. It's just a pity I'm not a Supreme, haven't refined a world, and Azure Dragon Heaven has already collapsed, so I can't actually try it out."
Spirit God Heaven hasn't yet undergone its first calamity its fate is still undecided, and its core hasn't formed, so it can't be tried.
The Chaos Gem let out an "oh," followed by a startled "ah!" "Master, you said you mastered it?"
Lin Moyu nodded slightly, "Is there a problem?"
The Chaos Gem was stunned. "I remember the defeated Emperor of the Azure Break, it took him a thousand years to understand the Primal Technique yet Master did it in a hundred, and your level is far lower than his was at the time."
"If Master were also a Supreme, it'd probably take less than ten years! A thousand years versus ten years… wow, you really are incredible."
Comparing the situation, the Chaos Gem found Lin Moyu's progress nothing short of terrifying.
He had never once doubted Lin Moyu's claim if Lin Moyu said he'd mastered it, it must be true.
Then he asked, "Master, what's the technique's real purpose? I always thought it was just for controlling the world, but later Emperor Azure Break called it the foundation though he never said more."
Lin Moyu explained, "Emperor Azure Break was right. The Primal Technique is the foundation it's the next step for a Supreme."
The Chaos Gem pondered, "So if a Supreme wants to enter the Forbidden Zone, they have to fully master the Primal Technique?"
Lin Moyu nodded. "That's right. You must fully master the technique and gain understanding and adaptation to the Forbidden Zone. Both are required."
"No wonder Emperor Azure Break said that and after understanding the technique, he spent another ten thousand years perfecting it."
Lin Moyu asked, "Did anything change in his world at that time?"
The Chaos Gem nodded, "Some tiny changes, but nothing major."
Refining the world with the Primal Technique is a kind of internal transformation; from outside, it looks mostly the same.
Emperor Azure Break was unique among Supremes. After stepping into the Forbidden Zone, he survived for a full ten breaths far beyond others.
Sadly, even he failed, meaning there must have been something he didn't get quite right. Maybe the answer lies in the legacy he left behind.
Lin Moyu glanced around; they had already left the East Pole, crossed the Wilderness Scar, and entered the Servant Domain. Reaching the Central Domain, Xiaopeng slowed down; with the Hidden Spirit Pearl, no one had caused trouble during the past century.
Calamity was now on the verge of eruption at any moment it could explode. If anyone interfered, it could erupt early.
But Lin Moyu was not anxious. He went back to studying the Ancient Chaos Primal Technique.
