The darkness twisted and churned around Katarina, yet she didn't even flinch. She simply stood there and allowed it to wash over her.
Then, like a mirage dispersing beneath the sun, the darkness gradually faded.
Katarina found herself back in the same space where she had been fighting Asmodeus and Leviathan.
'It doesn't seem like that much time has passed here.'
For her, however, decades had gone by.
"Haa… You even managed to conquer that too."
Asmodeus and Leviathan descended before her. The former let out a long sigh, a trace of regret evident in his expression.
"Yeah."
Katarina nodded with a faint smile.
"And that's why I'm here to collect what is due."
Experiencing another possibility of her life had not been a bad thing.
If anything, it had been an experience she could never have obtained otherwise.
But having her memories turned into a plaything for another being was something she couldn't simply brush aside.
