At dinnertime, Zi Yunsui and Hua Xiaomo had already returned to the villa. Zi Yunsui was walking in the hall when he saw a maid approaching.
"Where's the young lady? Was she well-behaved today?" Zi Yunsui asked without thinking.
"Hello, sir. The young lady is in her room. She had breakfast and lunch in there. Per your instructions, she hasn't come out all day," answered the maid.
"Oh... I'll go take a look," Zi Yunsui said, then quickly walked up the steps, pausing outside Bai Wei's room.
"Knock knock knock, knock knock knock…" He gently knocked on the door.
No one responded.
"Weiwei, Weiwei, open the door, it's your brother!" Zi Yunsui called out.
Still, there was no response, which was strange to Zi Yunsui. "Where's the key?" he asked, and the maid by his side handed it over. Zi Yunsui grabbed it, inserted it into the lock, turned it, and pushed the door open, only to be dumbfounded. There was nobody; the entire room was empty.
The maid was also dumbstruck.
